Well I must say that I'm surprised Final Fantasy XIV didn't make the cut. I thought that one would make it to top 5 or even 3.
Good. Get that MMO shit out of here. We're talking games, not interactive hook-up tools for people who don't get much sun.
I'm playing Shadow of Mordor now myself....really fun. Not sure what Dvader was smoking giving this a 7.4 rating. But I don't want any.
It totally rips off Ass Creed, Batman, and a few others, but it also has its own vibe. And it nails the LOTR atmosphere brilliantly.
It does not nail the LOTR atmosphere, it might as well be random goblin killer. I explained it a in my awesome review.
Vader wanted a proper movie tie-in. Prancing around giggling and saying "hey, look! there's handsome orlando legolas and gimli bantering about while killing orcs!" "oh my! the dreaded sauron theme! the evil eye is about to show up!" The only reason Gollum was included in the first place the same way the movies show him like was because of people like you.

For the rest of us, though, the game was good.
Even funnier when you read what I wrote about the game BEFORE reading Steel's post above!
7 is good steel, and that is all it is. Good. Its not as good as Assassin's Creed nor any Batman game, it takes elements of both and doesn't take the best of each so you are left with a weird hybrid. And no it did not need any characters from LOTR, it should feel like Peter Jackson's world which it did not, so what was the point of using the movie license then? Batman feels like Batman, every inch of that game is soaked in Batman lore. I have never played a Star Wars game that doesn't feel like Star Wars, all star wars games use the license in proper ways, even KOTOR that had no tie ins into the movies. Why get the movie license for LOTR and then use basically nothing from them, makes no sense. This game is dark, rated M, all about murder and revenge, has none of the heart that the story is known for, none of the adventure elements. It is nothing like LOTR.
It has one of the most barren open worlds out there. There is almost nothing to do except kill orcs and they expect you to do so for 20 plus hours. The combat is not as good as batman and it is basically broken during the second half of the game cause your skills become too great.
There you have it! Which one will be Number ONE?!
