One of those things that might be hilarious if it wasn't true.
As unlikely as it was, I did consider it for a second. Then I saw screenshots of their texts. If this is home, he's remarkably douchey.
Shouldn't it be 'my wife and me'?
Also, my life is boring. I wish Dave Batista would try to hit on me.

Yeah, surely she told you that about the money and Face time to get you off her ass. How dare you ruin this for her with plain, cold facts?
Anyway, Dave Bautista?

Make a Tiktok account and then like any random male celebrity's account. You'll have someone pretending to be them in your DM's soon enough. My wife has been contacted by at least 3 Jason Mamoa's in the last 2 weeks.
It won't be long before Mr. Batista reveals his secret crypto-currency account his managers don't know about.
Unlikely. Grief and loneliness are probably the main motivators. And while I like her a lot, she's not the brightest either.
This is sad.
Just tell her, until she meets in real life its not a thing.

Over the summer, a friend to me and my wife died. The poor guy was only 50 years old and apparently had One of those widowmaker heart attacks, and true to the name he left behind a wife. It definitely came out of nowhere and hit her hard, but fortunately she seems to have a pretty good support network and friends that looked out for her, including my wife and I.
A couple weeks ago she reached out to my wife to let her know that she is starting to dip her toe back into the dating pool. Good for her. I don't think there's a hard and fast rule about how long you're supposed to wait, but I do know most people probably wait longer than is healthy.
Anyway, would you like to know who the new guy is? You might know him. It's Dave Batista. Yes, that Dave Bautista. Except, it's probably not Dave Batista. Allow me to explain.
Our friend spends a lot of time on TikTok and was apparently reached out to by Dave, but not on his official account. He has a private account, that even his managers don't know about. Because of course he does.
Anyway, while it seems obvious that anyone with two brain cells would smell the scam, I think she's damaged enough that she's completely buying into it. My wife and a few other mutual friends have tried to gently let her know it's some sort of scam or at best someone just wasting her time. My wife even went so far as reaching out to a comic convention promoter she knows who had Dave as a guest, and got him to confirm the phone number he's using to text from is not in fact Dave's.
The support, however, has not been well received as one might expect for someone who has become a little delusional. She's basically cutting everyone off who is trying to convince her that this is not real, and even got on her social media to announce she's got a new boyfriend and to condemn it. Everyone who's been trying to make her see the light.
Here's the really strange part. She says she has FaceTimed with him, and it's definitely him. She also claims "Dave" sent her $5,000 that helped fund her trip to New York to help spread her husband's ashes. We're not sure if this is some way to get a hold of her bank account, which in all fairness doesn't have much money in it, or if she's just making the whole thing up.
Anyway, the whole thing is just a bizarre tragedy. We're not really sure what to even do at this point, but hopefully she figure something out before anything bad happens.
