Can you answer a simple yes or no question?
Is it great?

Great? No. But it's pretty damned good.
It plays more like a character action game than I was honestly expecting - you have plenty of the hallmarks of that genre (countering, constantly getting new weaponary, constantly dodging), while having one of the cooler presentation elements I've seen in a long time. Though I do feel it outstays its welcome just a bit, it goes on for just a bit longer than you'd really like. Though otherwise, the length is quite fine.
Any more questions?

What game is Bastion most like?
I'd say it's closer to something like a God of War or that type of action game rather than a Zelda.

Short, but oh.so.sweet! You've gotta see it to believe it! I say: DO EET!
I think I have a little blurb in the Finished Games topic. Check it out!
You know what? Welcome to the future lads and ladies!
I was just talking to Vader about this, but I whole-heartedly believe it to be true: The games I want to play the most are probably going to be Downloadable from here on out! Sure, there will be AAA disc-based blockbusters still, but if you want games that focus on gameplay, rather than movies and filler... If you want games that take risks that publishers are willing to put out because there's next to NO publishing fees... Downloads are where it's at!
It seems like ALL the games who's concepts started as 16 bit blockbusters, are coming out as downloads now, rather than expensive-to-produce retail games. Just look at the insane number of games I posted on the site TODAY alone!
The data limits are juuust large enough now for games to be complete, gorgeous, fully-realized concepts... just minus the memory hogging cinema-scenes which most people don't care about anyway! ...and you don't even have to leave the comfort of your easy chair to get 'em! I'm starting to REALLY like the idea!
