I remember once showing a houseguest Gran Turismo 2 playing on a Dreamcast using Bleemcast. He said, "Graphics will never be better than this".
It still blows my mind that it was even possible to play PS games on the Dreamcast. Never tried it myself.
This is what made me drop my jaw in amazement, and got me back into gaming in 1996.

I did, worked pretty well too. Not sure how many games were supported though.
King's Quest V: Absence Makes the Heart Go Yonder. This completely and utterly blew me away. It was Sierra's first 256 color VGA game and it was the most beautiful thing I'd ever seen (though frankly the game was terrible and a low point in the series). When they ported it over to the NES I cried a little because it looked so god awful.
I remember thinking this game had mind blowing graphics
Still the game that blew me away the most was

Tekken, MGS and Gran Turismo 2 (I have the last two).
I remember just being floored with this scene during the ending of SMB 2. All I could think was, "this looks like a cartoon! Videos are just about to start looking like cartoons!"
Look at this house. It looks just like a photo!
These bricks look freakin' real! Sure, they're oversized, but freakin' real!
I know I've said it before but the last game to really make me go "OMG LOOK AT THE GRAPHICS!!!" was Sonic Adventure for the Dreamcast. First time I saw that at a kiosk in Best Buy all I could do was go, "LOOK AT THE WATER! IT"S AMAZING. LOOK AT SONIC! HE LOOKS AMAZING!! LOOK AT THAT PURPLE CAT! HE LOOKS. . . wait.... what is the fucking cat doing in the game?"
It doesn't look like much now, but the original Virtua Fighter... then what they did to it in Remix... that was an OMG moment!
Look, just post a picture from your past where you looked at the screen and went, "This is amazing".
Do it!
