The first two games are being re-released onto PSN, and all four games are being released on Steam. This includes the Xbox exclusive Strangers Wrath and Munch's Oddyssey

Oh dear. Well, that's dull compared to what I was imagining.

That's what I thought when I saw the announcement. In the interview they mentioned the possibiltiy of a new game, but they've been mentioning the possibility of a new game since Stranger's Wrath was released. And a film. But never a re-release!

It's nowheren near close to the brilliance of the first two, but I really enjoyed it. Definitely agree it got a bit repetative, though.
In honour of the recent Oddworld related announcement I thought I'd bring up two of the best 2d platformers of all time. This was one of the games that made me know that I had to have a PS, and you have no idea how crushing it was to find out that Microsoft had bought an exclusive deal when the next gen came around! Luckily they weren't as great as the first two.
Anyway I remember borrowing it with a PS from the local video rental place---this was before chains resuled in there only being a few different shops. We borrowed FFVII and Oddworld, and some snowboarding game that i can't really remember. FFVII was mind blowing enough, and it got played from the beginning to the slums in one sitting, but my sister didn't like RPGs, so the next day we tried Oddworld.
It was funny, had great characters, fantastic cutscenes (cutscenes rock! ) and brilliant atmosphere, and the game was just damn fun. It was hard, but never really all that frustrating. We couldn't finish it before it went back, but skip forward some time, and we now had a PS and a copy of Oddworld Abe's Oddysse.
A friend came over and we finished it in one sitting. Bad ending, but that made it all the funnier! Me and my sister then played through it and got the good ending.
Then came along Abe's Exodus and expectations were high. It was the same game but bigger and better and a hell of a lot harder. The levels were much longer, the puzzles tougher, the timing needed to be more precise, but it was all the better for it. I haven't finished it yet---disc problems, honest---but I've got pretty damn close. It's kinda ruined not being able to watch cutscenes, though.
Which reminds me. *goes to play the PC version*
