same here. got it in metroid pinball. only used it for that game and for partners in time. it was neat but noisy. i haven't used it at all since i stopped using the bulky DS and started using the lite almost exclusively. don't like cartridges sticking out of the DS and didn't want to get the smaller kind for the lite as it's not such a big deal.
now what i would have really liked, is force feedback in the classic controller and also in the wavebird (which is otherwise my favourite controller of all time). i think the classic controller pro (or whatever it's called) should have addressed this.
I didn't care about rumble on the N64, and I didn't care on the GameCube. The Wii's a little different because it's needs the extra feedback in places, but that's about it.

I didn't know it came with MetPin. I have not noticed the noise, though I am playing it in a DSPhat. I'll listen some more, I have bought some of the games it supports. You should give it a try with Space Invaders Extreme, it's a kick.
Okay, I interrupt my period of gaming malaise to bringing you this exciting development in gaming technology. The DS RUMBLE PACK, from Nintendo.
I bought this a few years ago as I thought it would be rare one day (it is only available from the Nintendo Store Including online). You can get them for as low as $1.99 from gamestop.com (so much for the collectible nature of the device).
It adds a whole new level to the DS -- feedback -- it's amazing. I popped in Space Invaders Extreme to check it out for the first time, and it turned it into a Rez-like experience.
