I'm a little surprised we didn't see Maniac Mansion get released this weekend.  Now that the VC supports both the NES and the Commodore 64 I was sure we'd get one of the versions (preferrably the C64 ver.).

As for everything else, ehhhh I'll pass.  However, I'm exciting to see that Golden Axe arcade was released.  Not really regarding the game itself, but it gives me hope that we'll see the real Golden Axe II arcade sequel.  I loved that game.  Dropped many a quarter on that back in the day, and was always bummed that we never got a real port of that to consoles.

I didn't think it was all that when I played it sooo many years ago, however in my Sleeper Topic and Weekly VC topics people have been asking about it/anticipating it for years...

Just one of those cult classics that people seem to love.

I thought it was a pretty average game too (we are talking about Zombies Ate My Neighbors, right?).  I think people found it appealing because at the end of the day it was a different kind of game. No saving the princess or anything like that. It's found itself a good niche and was an original looking title. But in my mind after the novelty wore off it was a pretty dull game.

That's a shame, I never played it myself.  Is it an action game?  I always thought it was like a point and click type game.

Zombies Ate my neighbors is an action game.  Watch this vid to get an idea of the gameplay:  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ut9oWWI0mWM  Like I said it's kind of cool at first, but the novelty sort of wore off as time went on.

Awesome! I loved Zombies Ate My Neighbors. I'll definitely be grabbing this game on VC. I'll get it a little later on though since there are a lot of games coming out starting this week and the next couple of weeks following.

I enjoyed it. I have the Genesis version, I think the SNES version was completely different -- not just a port IIRC.
