I know the exact level you're thinking of and the same thought crossed my mind as soon as I saw it.  Yeah, that was a classic Mario trick, but that sand tunnel was so long that I really started to question myself as I got to the bottom of it.  Fantastic moment. I can't wait to see what the later worlds are going to be.  Wonder if we're going to see something like Big Island.

And yeah. I'm also enjoying this game.

Any new 2D Mario game is always great. I'm glad Nintendo didn't compromise this one by dumbing it down. I'm glad it's challenging and follows the tradition of the past 2D Mario legacy!

OMG! This is what I'm talking about.  The first castle in the third world is genius: The rotating platforms, the elevator with the rolling spiky balls.

It was also great to be in Boo Mansion again. Clever level design.  Mario's still got it. I like the Luigi's Mansion music.

I only have two wii remotes. I want to play 3 or 4 players. Can I use gamecube controllers or classic controllers etc?

I don't think so. Several moves require motion controls.  Some of them fit into the game really well like changing the angle that a particular platform is set at. Others, like picking up ice blocks or barrels, don't work nearly so well.  But they're all important to the gameplay and other controllers can't do it.

I'm having more and more fun with this game and have really started to get that "old Mario" feeling.  The Ghost House in World 3 has sort of made it all come together.  I'd get lost then accidentally find where I was supposed to go, and keep stumbling into the right places until I got to the goal.  

Best part of it, I got rewarded with the entrace to a cannon/warp zone to world 6.  That just made me giddy.  Completely unexpected.  And that was what really sold me.  That's exactly what the SMB3 and World were like. You never quite were aware that you were finding something hidden when you did.  Always kind of hit you at the last minute.

I'll double check but I've looked into a couple other message boards and they all say no.  Wii remote is the only way to play.

I played NSMB Wii for about five hours last night with my sister. Miyamoto is an effing genius! I haven't laughed so much or so hard in years! My sister isn't a fan of platformers, and she's never played more than a few levels in any Super Mario game, but last night we played co-op through the first three worlds, and had an absolute blast doing so. Since she's unskilled at playing these games, I had to teach her how to play, and often had to help her out of jams. By the end of the second world, she was in the zone, and was doing fairly well for herself; she even came to my rescue a few times! I've never had so much fun in a multiplayer game before. It's too bad it's taken this long for Nintendo to finally bring a true multiplayer Super Mario game to the masses, but I'm definitely glad they did. Happy

I dont think that is true. If you look at the map you can tell exactly which levels have two exits and which ones lead to a warp cannon. Also you know every level has three hidden stars to find. This game basically tells you when there are secrets to find which is not the case for SMB3 or SMW.

I am starting world 5, great game, still not SMB3 or SMW.  I don't know what to say, it doesn't have that same magic that those games had. I have played one airship level, that is a great level to directly compare to SMB3 as it is trying to be a SMB3 airship level. Well it was good but again the design wasn't as good as SMB3. This game is a great homage to SMB3 and SMW but it never reaches those games levels.

5 hrs is an epic play session, that's like watching Return of the King extended cut + the extra features.

I have been looking for that entrance and cannot find it and you find it by accident?
