And as SupremeAC said if you need someone to play with and you're on PS4, let me know. That said, you're also better off continuing to play solo for a while. You progressed faster with a friend, but it's important to familiarize yourself with the territories so you know where are all the camps in other little secrets are.

Truely crap advice.  What you really need is a large hammer to smash everyone's face in with.  yes

Just goes to show how the game accomodates different styles of play.  There's no wrong way.  Except for the one Robio mentionned above.

Don't listen to this guy. Not only does he still get lost in the first world, but he bought the Labo VR kit. You can't trust a man like this.

Who would you rather have at your side when a Deviljho gets the jump on you?  The guy who knows where to flee to, or the guy who goes with the flow and gives the beast such a beating it'll question wether hatching out of his egg all those years ago was a good idea?

Not sure, but I have it on good authority that the first guy also thinks vodka is a vegetable.  Go figure.

Don’t listen to either of these fools, truly crap advice. What you’ll want to use is the Insect Glaive. Not only is a weapon that the most intelligent and best looking hunters use but it also kills monsters in style. Just remember that you have to jump around like the ground is lava because sometimes it will be.

Ah yes the insect glaive. The perfect weapon for the hunter who wants to hit a monster but not do any damage to it. Stop filling his head with that crap. Why not just petition Capcom for cardboard sticks as weapons?

LOL. Please continue to give advice. I won’t be around this weekend so no coop, sorry. I’m pretty sure I will go solo most of the game.

I’m a helicopter of death baby! Dashing in and out of danger and doing sick monster mounts. I see your tears while you’re off in the corner “sharpening” your hammer wishing you were as agile and stylish as me. How does one sharpen a hammer by the way?

Let me guess. It was the awesomeness of the Insect Glaive that sold it to you right?

The only thing less appealing than the insect glaive is genital warts...and maybe the hammer.

The insect glaive?  You mean a pogo stick and a bug.  Only Scrooge McDuck was ever mad enough to bring a pogo stick to a battle, and I wouldn't favour his odds going up against a Nergigante.  And a bug?  really?  Bugs are for squishing, not for slaying.

I don't sharpen it, I sit down in the midst of battle, knowing no fear as I dismiss those who would defy me to etch the names of those who fell to my hammer's massive power into it's face and handle.

Hammer's are just misunderstood by lesser men.  Just like genital warts.

Hey now! Don’t disparage genital warts, they’re the bees knees.

I like to suddenly set up my cooking spit in the midst of battle and cook a hunk of meat to perfection.

Well, it seems that I'll be hanging my hammer away for some time.  Me and my mate basically ran out of things to do, so we'll be turning to other games as we wait for the Iceborne DLC to release on PC.  I've been feeling it for about a month already, and my mate voiced similar concerns last weekend.  The end game content's random nature just isn't worth keeping playing for and without a clear goal there's no incentive to keep fighting the same monsters over and over again.

We'll probably run though the BL2 DLC, or turn to Sea of Thieves and the magic of cross platform play.

Vader, if you want to play some early game co-op, I'm game.  Keep in mind that I only played for about 20 hours on Xbone, so you'll probably overshoot me pretty fast.

By the way if anyone hasn't seen it, Icebourne's beta goes live this weekend, at least for PSN.

I spent some time with the Icebourne demo. Not too much, as I what is much of it to be a surprise as possible, but I did fight the Banbaro and that was a pretty neat battle. Not too difficult. A bit reminiscent of Durambos, though this guy is not quite as well armored and a little more aggressive.

The clutch claw is going to make for a lot of fun in the battles. Just getting the last Sean and then dive straight in for an attack is pretty cool, but it's going to take a little work getting used to. I had it backfire on me a couple times and it left me very wide open to get my ass handed to me. The reach is not quite as far as you would expect it to be.

The main star of all this though is the setting itself. Kind of feels like the atmosphere from the last God of war. Previous ice worlds in the series have been kind of barren, but that is definitely not the case here. it's going to be a lot of fun to explore, and I'm sure there's going to be quite a few secrets to find.
