So that's why I wonder how the Wii version is going to do? I wonder if Capcom will port Monster Hunter 3 to the PSP if it doesn't perform as expected on the Wii.
Also on a side note, imagine how this game would look if it was made for the PS3 or 360 from the ground up!

ASK_Story said:Those screens look good. I'm really curious to see how this game will do on the Wii. I mean, isn't MH Freedom Unite's success because of its portability and the option to play around a desk with a bunch of friends? I read from Capcom and Famitsu editors that MH's success on the PSP is because of that. Japanese gamers don't like playing online with strangers but they prefer playing with friends in the same room which is why MH on the PSP has been so huge.

Home console versions of portable franchises never sell as much. Animal Crossing DS is at 9 million, the Wii one is at 3 million.
I think Capcom shouldn't expect more than 2 million from this game, worldwide end of life sales. It's big in Japan, but not in the west. I would like to think that the effort they have made will be followed through in marketing and rewarded with sales.
This game was being made for PS3 before being cancelled due to costs. It could have looked pretty amazing like Lost Planet 2, but the Wii at the time was outselling PS3 in japan X3 and is still doing it by double some weeks. Japan is the main market of course.

ASK_Story said:I will say this. I'd rather play Monster Hunter on the Wii than the PSP. The PSP is great but it's tough to see and control the character. It's fantastic on for a PSP game though. Totally worth the price tag and has the most content on any PSP game so far.
I think it could be cool online but I need to know the details, wii speak is a must IMO.

Thought this was interesting if anyone wanted to know what the game would look like on PS3

Personally I like the way the human characters look but the monsters looks all plastic like. Without all the shaders, even if this is a rendered CGI, it looks more artistic to me.
There are some really great new pics here:

The site uses flsh so I cant post them here.
That's how they will look in my LCD anyway, so I might as well get used to that now.
