robio said:To answer your earlier question, yes I played it but I never got that into it. I got hung up on a particular boss battle and couldn't beat it for the life of me, so I just stopped playing it and never went back. No regrets though. It just never felt like my thing.
That's strange, given your enjoyment of Harvest Moon. I can appreciate the differences though, HM is a very controlled experience, whereas this is like PIKMIN HAS INVADED HARVEST MOON, so just as I shy away from RDR because of my ample exposure to GTA, you may be having the same kind fo reaction to this game.
"My question to those of you who have played this, would this have sold better if it were skinned like a WoW or Dark Alliance/ Champions of Norrath game and sold on the PC/360?"
EWWWWWWW.

I know, but the thought is truly horrible. If they did change the look to that then they would have had to change the whole tone of the game, but the gameplay would still have been pretty niche. If they made it your average dungeon crawler then it might have done better, though.

My advice to anyone playing this for the first time (Yoda), is don't wait for the game to tell you what to do next, it's kinda broken in that way (depending on your perspective).
My question to those of you who have played this, would this have sold better if it were skinned like a WoW or Dark Alliance/ Champions of Norrath game and sold on the PC/360? I'm guessing so. One thing I've never understood about the gaming world is why people prejudge games on the basis of the graphics (as in this game and Wind Waker, with the assumption that it's "kiddie").
I have never played those games. Purely on franchise name, WoW would increase the sales?
I think the game isn't playing into todays market of teenagers wanting bombastic action gamers. Also it's hard to understand how it plays based on screens and videos. You worry it might be complex when its not. It's a game based on pure charm. Charm = quirky game loved by a few?
My loyalty to Pikmin still prevents me from playing this. I shall remain true, and abide and shall not be tempted by false idols and little kings. I know you are alive my sweet pikmin 3 and you are still in development secretly away from those who will judge you. 2011 ... year of the pikmin 3. Believe!
Not only is it not at all Pikmin, it's also a hell of a lot better too.
For Yoda, who now has this game I have a couple of suggestions:
1. Never assume the game will assign you taks and tell you what's next. If you are unclear as to where to go and what to do next get off your throne and talk to Houser, he will tell you the next area to be conquered. He won;t tell you this if you talk to him while seated.
2. Don't engage in any side-quest under 3 stars.
If I had known that when I started I'd probably be about 40% closer to completion and a lot more satisified with the game.
"Go beat up this dude in the Sunflower field", "Go beat up this dude in the Skulls Plains", "Go beat up this dude in yo momma" etc... how does that add to the game?
Oh speaking of which... this was hilarious. I was walking down the street yesterday when an english as second language person told a child she was walking with (by appearances her grand-daughter),
"Your... Momma... Doesn't ... Like... Dogs."
Unintentional "Yo Momma" taunt FTW.
Exp, money etc.
Not that you really need money. But meh, I never had a problem with it.
Momma? English second language? You mean she was American?
The last time I had such a love/ hate relationship with a game was Fable (and that's only because of a broken controller). I'm back in the hate camp.
Just got destroyed by the TV boss for the first time (as I had no miners with me).
Bloody hell, what have Konami done to New Little Kings Story Vita?
Little underage japanese girls in short short skirts? They have sullied the game with this shit. Imagine if this crap was put into Pikmin 3?

Those are big breasted 12 year olds.
DAT ASS
I'd say that's an improvement over LKS Wii. Pikmin 3 would greatly benefit from this stuff too.

Ugh, Steel....thanks to your input on Pikmin 3, now all I'm picturing is the blue man group bumping nasties with the fruit of the loom guys. The amount of alcohol I'd need to erase that would kill me.
I'm back in the groove with this game. This really is the most SNES game I've played on the Wii. There have been some SNES -type games on the GBA, and DS, but not on any other console.
