I've been told by Aspro to try and play Deadly Premonition first, which I may do this weekend! Congrats on finishing Wake, though!

Thanks buddy. I finished the DLC today as well ... Woot?
I looked up the DLC packs today to see if they were still on sale. Alas, day late, dollar short! Both back up to 560 points!
I'm so embarrssed that I sold Fallout 3 before finishing it. It rocks!

That sucks. They are both quite enjoyable and of decent length (about the same on average as each of the six episodes on disc) but 560 each is perhaps a bit pricey. No doubt they'll be on discount again soon.
Today's deal. Perfect Dark!! Reduced by 50% to 400 points. I've never played it, and I'm sort of tempted. Especially since it's one of Yoda's perfect games. But then again FPSs from that era have a tendency to make me sick. I'll think about this some more.
Well, Zach, I'm in for it now. I've just started Deadly Premonition. Any advice?
Actually, Zach, nevermind. It'll be more fun if it remains mysterious.
I gotta tell ya, Zach, Deadly Premonition really reminds me of a Circa 1999 DreamCast title.
I don't mean that as a bad thing in the least, you know?
#1 Try some of the side missions. One of them will open up a radio that will allow you to warp from place to place (if you don't like driving, I actually liked it).
#2 In the manual it tells you how to change from first person view in driving -- it improves the driving greatly.
#3 The map is THE WORST that you will encounter in any game. Come to terms with that.
#4 Change the difficulty down to easy, it doesn't dimish the game in any way (since most of it is plot driven anyway -- it just decreases the number of monsters, which are not an important part of the game at all).
That's about all I can remember for now.
Oh, if you run out of gas, use a flare. Saves walking back.
Thanks, Aspro, but Zach and I have it covered! He and I are pretty obsessive when it comes to side missions. We already discovered the bumper changing the view while driving, too!
Zach wants me to ask you though, What's up with that Sherrif's Assistant. He seems a bit... ( ) ...off.
We should be able to trudge through the game on our own!
Traded some stuff in today to preorder a 3DS! Sooo...

^ It is really a crime against humanity that Vader isn't able to play this game. I think he would criticize it very harshly but ultimately LOVE it! ^

I do that often. I think you know me too well.

Besides the VERY nostalgia inducing DreamCast game similarities and the Classic Resident Evil style Survival Horror gameplay, the way the Main Character talks to himself about 80's movies and subjects similar to that, it just reminds me of you for some reason.
I wish I had seen the TV show Twin Peaks. People seem to compare this game to that constantly. I feel I would have an even greater appreciation for the game having seen it. If the show was anything like the game is, being totally off-the-wall-WTF-moment-filled, I think I would completely enjoy it!
I'm glad you are enjoying it. Like I said when I played through it, it;s a game people either totally get or totally miss, and I can't blame anyone for not liking the game (which is why i was hesitant to suggest it to anyone).
It's just one of those gaming experiences that are unique, which is where the DC quality comes in.
I see utterly, completely and totally what you mean. This is one of the most uniqely done, different and FUN games I've played in quite a while!
I don't even have any problem with the combat! The reticle, switching between long and short range weapons with the d-pad... it's completely functional.
I LOVE the creepiness of it too.
So. Very. Cool!
Mrs. Aspro is going to start it tonight, so I get to watch it again... man I love that game. It's not without it's frustrations, for sure, and when you get to some boss battles you'll know what I mean, but it's worth working through until the end. (which reminds me, PLEASE USE 2 SAVE SLOTS).
So says, Aspro ofthe Internet.
When you are done, I will send you a link to a podcast where they interview the creator of the game (it is laden with spoilers).
... and Alan has Woken up.
I look forward to you playing it Leo.
