Illegal.
For recreational purposes I have no interest in it, as every drug (which is limited to a variety of pharmaceuticals, alcohol, and marijuana) I've tried does not alter my state of consciousness, so it's a bit pointless (even if they did, my imagination and ability to inhabit an experience is vastly superior, judging by the accounts of drug-induced altered states of consciousness, which rarely go beyond basic geometrical hallucination, out of body experiences, flow, or disassociation; when your mind is blown by having an aura or the effects of glaucoma, your mind needs to harden the fuck up) unlike alcohol, which at least tastes well, depending on what it is.
However, its painkilling properties are astounding. The only thing better to distraction that I've experienced, however I wouldn't want to use it for that purpose, as rediscovering just how much pain you are in, organ by organ, while the effect gradually wears off, is a horrific experience that you don't have to go through with distraction-based pain relief.
That said, there are situations where superior pain relief would be useful, so if it were legal acquiring it would at least be marginally easier. Its illegality wouldn't put me off buying it, though. And if heroin and ice are anything to go by, it should be pretty easy to get around here. Incidentally, the legalisation of those drugs (and implementation of simultaneous social programs) should be a much higher priority than legalisation of marijuana; and even greater priority than that should be dealing with the drug that destroys the lives of more Australians than any other: alcohol.

Yeah it’s legal here in Canada. I wouldn’t say that it’s changed my perspective of it though as I always that that it should have been legal anyways. I’ve smoked it before on occasion. I don’t think that I’d ever smoke it again though because I quit smoking a number of years ago. I’d probably try it in a beverage or some kind of food though.
Netflix and edible?
I was in the library a few days ago and there was a poster telling people to watch out for an invasive weed called Chinese privet.
But no, it isn't legal (other than medical) in New Zealand, but surely soon.

Is weed legal in your country or state and if recently legalised has it changed your perception about use?
Personally, I don't smoke anything, so it's never been appealing, and in the country in which I currently live it's illegal so I'd also not consider it under any circumstances.
If I were back in California, I dunno. I had a friend who was a daily user and I never let him light up in my house, but these days... maybe I'd be okay with that.
