ARRRGGHHH!

I gotta stop this! I was playing Boom Blox: BP with the nephew today...

...and I ended up giving it to him! He's really a good kid. Reminds me of me when I was his age. I can't say no to him. Thing is, he never asks, though... I see him enjoying a game, knowing he'll make better use of it than me... there you go, kid!

*sigh* oh well!

________________________________________________________________________________________

I ALSO took him to GameStop to pre-order The Legendary Starfy.

I gave up my Suikoden: Tierkreis and Steal Princess to get a copy of Sacred 2 (PS3). Anyone here own it?

________________________________________________________________________________________

Steal Princess turned out to be a HUGE disappointment. It was published by Atlus, developed by Climax and programmed by Marvelous Interactive. With all of those names in the credits, you would think you couldn't go wrong, right? I loved LandStalker and this game looked like a 2009 version of IT. Nope. It is literally nothing but single-room maps to complete as quickly as possible. Landstalker had a huge isometric overworld and dungeons to explore with each map room being a puzzle unto itself and every dungeon room full of diabolical traps... There's no overarching overworld in Steal Princess. You literally choose a map from a menu, finish it and the next story scene plays. No exploration, no stats, just map after map. What the hell happened there? Sure they threw in an editor, but it was almost like they were saying: "You finish the game. We're bored with it already."
________________________________________________________________________________________

I'll probably regret trading in Suikoden at one point. The game showed a lot of promise. Nicely drawn bckgrounds. 108 people to recruit. Combination attacks. Wi-Fi options to trade recruits with other players. Larger than average game card size gave it enough memory to give voice-overs to al of the cut scenes. BUT, that in itself was one of the problems! The main character was voiced by quite possibly the WORST video game voice actor yet. Were they in a rush to get this game out? EVERY, single line of the main character seemed like the voice actor drank 8 Red Bulls before his recording session! No breaths were taken, no dramatic pauses, no emotions other than hyperactivity. It was like he was reading from a script as fast as humanly possible! I cringed every time a cut scene played! Between the obnoxiousness of the main character --AND-- the fact that it starts out sooooooooooooo tediously sloooooooooooooow and linear in it's exploration of the world, I couldn't bare to play it one. moment. more!
________________________________________________________________________________________

Here's hoping Shin Megami (NDS) and Sands of Destruction (NDS) are NOT given the same treatment! If I see that voice-actor's name on another game, I WILL NOT PURCHASE IT! His name is "Jesse Camacho" and I officially dub him: WORST. VOICE. ACTOR. OF. ALL. TIME!

Maybe it's like one of those big movies where there's tons of well known A-list actors and for some reason it ends up completely sucking (i.e. State and Main).

BTW can I ask what has you traveling around the country so much?  At least I'm assuming you travel.  You made a comment earlier about living out a trunk so I was just curious the reason for that.

Here is my collection, http://club.ign.com/b/list/custom?&owner=dvader654&mode=edit&&lid=100018

That list has every game I have owned at some point and my rating for all the games I beat. In my posession now I have everything from the 32 bit era on, minus a few I lost.

Some of my games.

There's many more than A) GS didn't know about, or B) I couldn't find when I was doing that list. There's also hundreds more *ahem* games.

Oh, apparently public viewing was turned off for some reason.  All better now.  It would be more productive if it said that the profile is private instead of saying there are no games, though.

Much better.

Good list, very Nintendo console oriented. At least you got your Zelda's, Mario's and some Metroid's (where is Super Metroid). The lack of Playstation stuff is very noticable, no Metal Gear games, no Resident Evil's beside RE4, no PS FF games outside of FFXII. One Castlevania game, boo. At least you got the Sonic and Mega Man collections, good man.

Didn't get a PS2 until a couple years ago, never had a PS2 prior.  Same with Xbox.  Super Metroid is making its way up the list of VC games to get, but it'll be at least another 2000 point card before that makes it.  FFXII sucked, so... Castlevania DS was underwhelming as well.  And lastly, I way too much of a sucker for collections.

Oh, and of course I only have the only Resident Evil game worth owning Nyaa
