Oh what a fucking shock, IGN being Bioware/ME fanboys through and through.
And I think Peace Walker is a better game. Just much more interesting.
I was genuinally asking about the Metal Gear games. I haven't played either. I just know that MGS4 got perfect scores all over the place and Peace Walker did well review-wise but not that well. It's actually kind of funny when you read the Peace Walker summary and they address why they chose it over 4. They almost backpedal over themselves trying not to say "it's not as good as we thought it was when we originally reviewed it."
No MGS4, the list fails completely. IGN gave it a 10 and it doesn't make this list, god they are idiots.
Demon's Souls is number 100, holy crap what a shit list.
Crysis at 94...the best FPS of the past 5 years. Horrible list....I agree with Vader.
Bioshock gets the "art" pass. I have no idea how Brawl got into the top ten. Fallout 3 over Oblivion? Whatevs.
Most games in the top 10 don't even deserve 9s.
Bioshock was a great game, but no way is it the #2 game of the generation.

Brawl is in the top 10?
I'll comment on the games I have played:
Mass Effect 2 - I intend to buy
BioShock - LOL no. It was more of a great setting than a great game. It was very repetitive and run of the mill combat dressed up in pretentious monologue and lavish locations.
Red Dead Redemption - Will buy
Super Mario Galaxy 2 Yeah this is good, though I would put the first galaxy above it for originality and polish
Portal 2
Fallout 3 No, it was decent but I loved Oblivion a lot more than this. It was a little characterless and the post apocalyptic thing got a bit tired. Not much you can do in a nuclear wasteland to make it look pretty.
Uncharted 2
Assassin's Creed 2 - Decent game, very enjoyable, not sure I would top 10 it, maybe top 25 it. It gets a little repetitive by the end, the story is a little weird. Could use some more tricks for assasinations - needs better combat
Batman: Arkham Asylum - Just shy of proper greatness, the one button auto combat holds it back and it's too easy to be batman, sometimes it feels like QTE sequences when you just tap a button thats on screen. Could do with being 1/3rd longer too. Really polished and fun though.
Super Smash Bros: Brawl - I loved the first two Smash games but I have a limit on how much I can enjoy one on one fighters without enought innovation. In eating terms, I was full after Melee and Smash made me feel like I couldn't take another bite.
Oh yeah, where the hell is Oblivion, this should be in the top 10. At the time it was one of the few games to feel like next gen was worth it.

I can understand the original part, but polish?! They are both polished to the nth degree.

This is factually false. Just because something is nuclear does not mean it has to be a desert wasteland. I could be a ruined wasteland with trees growing everywhere, like what would happen in real life. The reason why it is a desert is because the consoles are not powerful enough to render a jungle.

I mean a fairly recent nuclear wasteland. I saw this documentary which showed it would take about 10'000 years for nature to claim back the planet after man is gone.

Chernobyl nature is so much better now before the fallout. Why? Because humanity left. In other words, humans are worse for the environment than nuclear radiation. Also a recent one, would have the sun blocked out, because of the ash in the atmosphere. So we would have a nuclear winter and snow and ashed and stuff. Still would look better than the desert environment.

Yeah it might do, especially if you had humans lighting fires against a black sky.
In a desperate attempt to come up with a top 100 list IGN recent threw down with their top 100 modern games, which pretty much means any game on a current day console. Why now? Who the hell knows. People love looking at lists though so they get a lot of hits, and I'm a schmuck so I'm no different than the rest of the sheep. I hate myself for it because over all it's terrible, but I suppose it does make for good dicussion. Here's the top 10 if you're interested:
There ya go. There's your top 10. Decent enough I suppose though I have a feeling a lot of people may not like BioShock as high as it is, and probably not Brawl as high up as it is: http://www.ign.com/top/modern-games. So what are my major issues with it? Where shall I start?
First of all I don't think any Wii owners contributed to the list. All of the big 1st party Nintendo games got ranked on here. Galaxy 2, Brawl, Wii Sports Resort, Twilight Princess, DKCR, Super Paper Mario, Epic Yarn, Metroid Prime 3. And of course some of the bigger multi-party games like World of Goo, Rock Band 2, and DJ Hero got ranked too. But not a single 3rd party Wii exclusive is up there. No Monster Hunter Tri. Marvel v Capcom was picked over Tatsunoko v Capcom probably over the license alone. No NyxQuest, no Boom Blocks, no No More Heroes, no nothing. When games like those get ignored and Brain Training and Tiny Wings make it.... what can you say?
Handheld games still aren't taken too seriously. There were tons of DS games on the list, but almost none appear in the top 50. The only one that did was Mario Kart DS. Meanwhile, TWEWY was in the mid-70's. Travesty. PSP games barely appeared, though Peace Walker was ranked pretty high.
Speaking of Peace Walker, does anyone think it's a better game than MGS IV?? They did. They had a rule about one game per franchise so Peace Walker made the list and Guns of the Patriots was left off.
Oh and Limbo was a top 20 ranked game. Bullshit?
