No, articles moralising sexual submissiveness and dominance that must only be performed through a conformist ritual should not be read by children. And if they are read by children, then a trip to google to realise that dominance and submissiveness are not only acceptable in the context of a sexual subculture, is surely the next step they should take. Except google probably wouldn't tell them that, so it's a bit of a moot point.
BDSM isn't exactly some unknown subculture anyway. What children haven't heard of BDSM, or DVDA? Or any other suspicious acronym. Ignorant ones.
In other words, children are going to find content that's supposedly unsuitable for them anywhere and everywhere. Eurogamer doesn't market itself as a children's site, so what's the issue?

Idunno... Back in my days as a kid, you actually had to do some effort to find stuff like that.
Really though, Eurogamer is one of the big boys when it comes to online games journalism. To just plaster something like that on your front page. There's a difference between seeing some reference towards BDSM and the likes on the fringes of some site, and just having it jump up in your face. It clearly didn't sit well with Eurogamer either, since it's been written by an alias.

How do you know it's an alias and not a freelancer?
It could be a freelancer, but usually they have pics of the people who wrote it next to their names, as well as some nonsensical stuff describing who they are. Also, it was the first article Ed Smith ever wrote for Eurogamer.

Makes sense. Pretty lame of them if they aliased it lol.
It's exactly like BDSM. I paid for it, got 15 seconds into it, got scared and left.

And what did you think of Hotline Miami?

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileYodariquo said:I'm too lazy to read that, so if a kid is willing to, I'd say he's already ahead of me.
Yeah, enterprising kids should be rewarded for their initiative. They are going to find what they are into sooner or later anyway.
Of course, if I were a parent, I'd make a best effort to sheild them from this sort of stuff if I thought they were not ready for it, but in general, there are a lot more harmful things for kids to expose themselves to via the internet than some article on a gaming site.
I'm going to try it again today after I finish Bioshock Infinite. My only problem with it were the controls.
The controls suck balls, but the game is hilarious and addicting. (well I find murder hilarious anyways STOP LOOKING AT ME LIKE THAT)
Perfect game to play a couple levels in before playing something else. Not something I would sit down to play for hours at a time, but that doesn't make it a bad game or take away from the experience it offers.
Just like BDSM I had a boner the whole time and found the violence funny.
What's wrong with the controls? I'm having no problem with WASD+mouse. Obviously the aiming is shit, but it's not a shooter. Auto-aim plus strafing makes it a non-issue.

Keyboard and mouse. Hurt my hands.
I see the ocntroller option though and will give that a whirl.
I'm using a controller cause I am super lazy and auto aiming is finicky at best, I die a lot because of failed snap lock aiming. I'm pretty far in the game now so I adjusted somewhat and i'm still having a good time it just happens from time to time to annoy me.

Yeah, auto aiming would be awful with a controller.
Not my words, but Ed Smith's over at Eurogamer. Check it out.
Now I'm not going to discuss wether or not the game is like BDSM (anyone?), but do you think that such articles should appear on high-profile gaming sites? I mean, they do get read by children, and those children do know how to use google.
