Do You Like the Christmas Pudding?
If that thing is similar to a fruit cake then yeah. I can gobble a few pieces up, no questions asked.
Never had it before, and I don't remember what fruit cake tastes like because my mom hates fruit cake. She usually makes a large batch of pumpkin bread pudding, though. That stuff is kick-ass awesome!

I used to help my grandmother make it in a way that was straight out of Dickens. So I'm partial to it. The fruitcake that you get in stores (particularly the US) is not digestible. It's better for caulking major leaks.
I like it. I can only eat small amounts at once before my stomach explodes from the rich flavourful ecstacey, though.

I like it, but not more than once a year. Problem is that people buy it but dont eat it so I end up having to try to eat more to compensate. Which makes me ill.

OMG I can only imagine the kind of clogs you release after eating that.

So, what was the origin of the phrase: "the proof is in the pudding"?

The big dividing issue about Christmas is none other than THE CHRISTMAS PUDDING
I know so many people who loath it and can't even eat a single bite. I know families who make/buy a christmas pudding to use as part of the christmas decorations but no one actually wants to eat any. I know families who make a carrot cake or a chocolate cake and give it a white icing and pretend it's a christmas pudding.
My family all hate it. Well except for me.
What about you? Do you love or do you hate the christmas pudding?
American users may not know what it is. If the picture doesn't help, I think it is a little similar to what people in the States call a fruit cake, except it's not as heavy. it is basically a cake with all sorts of sweetened/syrupy fruit and many kinds of nuts, with a healthy helping of cognac all covered with white icing and christmas decorations.
