I think I've only had around 3 instances where I genuinely felt like smashing a controller. Two of them were during Viewtiful Joe Fire Boss Leo where I had a Hori pad and swung it around so hard it smashed a hole into the wall. Another where I bit down hard into it so there were teeth marks left there.

Last one was in Splatoon against asshole Japanese when I tried to spin 180 and for the hundreth time it wrongly activated my special and I got killed. I literally smacked the U pad screen so hard, several times in quick sucession - I was surprised there was no damage. My hand hurt like hell.

Hearthstone. When I'm moving up in rank and some piece of crap motherfucker throws down a ridiculous card (obviously cheating) and destroys me I will get almost angry enough to throw the phone.  But then I quickly remember that it's too expensive to replace.

Honestly with as expensive as controllers are, the urge to throw them has kind of died.

LOL That's my rationale for not throwing controllers also.

My rage buttons are usually pressed in fighting games, typically by cheap ass end bosses.

Lol, GG bites his controller.  I used to have a friend who bit his SNES controller while playing SF2 and exclaiming, "The Goddamn game cheats!"

We used to have a cheap $5 to $10 SNES controller that had "High Frequency" printed above the Start and Select buttons. It was my sisters controller because when she got mad she used to throw the controllers.

Everyone else in my family used the controller that came with the console.

Here is what her controller looked like.

When I say I swung a controller I mean I had the wire in my hand and was swinging it like a bolo...... into my wall. It put a hole in the wall.

But did the controller survive?

I'm not one to completely flip out over a video game, but...

The entirety of Turning Point: Fall of Liberty on Xbox 360.

It was such a buggy pos. Most of my problem though was that I made myself finish it so I could definitively say it was the worst FPS of last gen.
