So that's great news huh? This is old but I just wanted to say I want our governor to drop dead.
Hello, FBI!

our governor's nickname is "Death Sentence" so wishing that he would drop dead wouldn't even rank in the top 100,000 bad things said about him today.

Is he such a big piece of shit?

It's funny, prior to covid I didn't really have a problem with the guy. That was primarily due to the ultra low levels of expectation created by our previous Governor Rick scott, who is someone else I can rant about for a very long time. But Governor DeSantis, while conservative, more or less governed with common sense. I didn't agree with everything he did, but I didn't think it was bad. That all changed with covid, particularly this year.
He's gone out of his way to make rulings that allow people to avoid getting vaccinated, and has continually downplayed how serious it is. He's the primary reason as to why we have had the highest covid positive rates in the nation. He fought with the cruise lines when they wanted to require vaccinations for anyone getting on the ships. Just passed a rule stating that businesses can be fined if they require a vaccination card from their customers. And the worst of all is what he has done with the schools.
Over the summer he passed a ruling that said schools could not mandate mask wearing for students or teachers. And if any school districts tried to supersede that, they would be fined and lose state funding. A couple school districts went ahead and challenged him, and a favorable court case was just decided a couple days ago, which our governor is now appealing to the state supreme court.
What makes him particularly dirty piece of crap is that he has gone on record saying people should get the vaccination. But he won't create any government mandates to encourage that, and as I mentioned tries to strike down anyone that does. This is all because he has aspirations for the presidency, and the uneducated group that love Trump so much, seems to love him more. He's actually getting a higher favorability rating in early polls than Trump is for potential 2024 Republican candidates.
Anyway, long story short that's why he's called death sentence and why most people with common sense loathe the man.
He's an even bigger piece of shit than I expected. I'm impressed. Like when you take a poo and turn around and see a leviathan greeting you from the bowl that was way larger than you had expected. That kind of impressed but without the sense of pride you get with your own poo.

He is a Republican robot at this point and like robio pointed out he didn't start like that. It's like as soon as he saw he can run for president he took on all the worse aspects of the party. Besides Covid he has done the whole "fix elections" that make it harder for some populations to vote. He made it illegal for protests to happen on city streets but only enforced it when it's black people, cause Cubans did it but because it was his base they were allowed. He might go after abortions next cause he can't let Texas outshit him.
So, Christmas!
Will it be a Jolly time, or another self-distancing affair for you?
I'll be hanging out with my mom, sister and uncle on Christmas afternoon. Same with or without covid for me.
So that will be a merry gathering indeed.

You say that as if the two are mutually exclusive...
robio said:We're just doing a small Christmas with my wife, myself and our son. The day after Christmas however, we are going to drive up to Jacksonville to visit my wife's insane aunt's. One of them is quite literally the most batshit human being I've ever met. She believes that there are seven species of aliens living on the planet, pretty much every conspiracy theory about covid, and she has suggested that I'm actually a replicant and not a real human being.
So that will be a merry gathering indeed.
So she's merry but not bright? Yeah, I'm hosting a get together for my family and my brother in law for Christmas Eve . My sister and her husband are smoking prime rib for Christmas Day.
Well, I'm a class-1 close contact, so will actually be quaranting this Christmas.
I'm still making the same amount of pavlova and eggnog, even though there will be fewer people to consume it...so every cloud has a silver lining.
Unless eggnog is disgusting. Never tried it before.
Ravenprose said:I can only drink one small glass of eggnog a year. It's tasty but overly sweet.
The recipe i've been looking at looks more spicy than sweet, but it'll be extremely rich either way.
I usually buy a carton of eggnog and drink a small amount at a time. Its is usually very filling and I feel sick if I consume too much.
My wife's birthday is today and we tried out this French bistro. Delicious.
I used to think eggnog was some made up thing on TV. It might as well be for all I've seen of it. Practically mythical.
By Miu Watanabe.
It may be a bit expensive to ship a fridge over as well.
But it might be worth it, eggnog is dope, though not what I expected...not that I had any expectations. It's sort of like a spicy custard, milkshake, eggflip and liqeur all in one. And it's so thick after being in the fridge overnight!
