Is there no good stuff on Canadian TV?
I saw the Susan Boyle one but I haven't been keeping up. I will be back to this thread to watch the rest.

There's been two great recent Canadian TV shows, and they both had their series finales this year: Royal Canadian Air Farce and Corner Gas.
For BGT, I think Hollie's one to watch because that seemed hardly the limit for her, whereas for example, Shaheen I can't imagine topping that first performance.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileEpisode 7 has come and passed, and it mostly sucked. There was basically only one worthwhile act out of the lot, but fortunately they seem like one that could legitimately challenge to win: Ben & Becky - Ballroom Dancers.
It was also the last episode before the semi-finals. What happens is that the people who got through the auditions stay until the auditions are completed, then the judges trim the pack down the required number of acts. My top 6 in my original post all made it to the semi-finals, and I didn't see one way or another for Eugene or Gregg Pritchard.
The semi-finals are daily through the end of the week and voted on by the viewers.

The first thing to note is that Sue Son got completely cheated through and through. To begin, the commentary with the performance was atrocious and insulting. Last year she auditioned with her friend as a partner and the judges suggested she try it alone the next year, which she did. To constantly bring it up as her dumping her friend is at a minimum rude. Followed by insulting her character didn't help. And ultimately, she was easily in the top 3 performances.
As for the winners, Susan Boyle was obviously going to be voted through by the fans, though honestly based on performance, I would have placed her third.
Diversity was far and away the best act of the night, and correctly made it through.
Lastly, Amanda took the coward's way out. She did not honestly believe Natalie deserved to go through, and she knew Simon wouldn't put her through but decided to pass the buck on breaking the little girl's heart.
In short, the only worthwhile performances were Diversity, Sue Son and Susan Boyle.

Pretty much like round 1, not much dispute in who got through. Too bad about Jamie Pugh's performance kind of sucking, though.
EDIT: And I watched the piece that had them deciding who made it to the semis and spotted Gregg Pritchard as making it through. Still didn't see the Librarian either way.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileSo, Semi-finals 3 and 4. Here's the third, though it's missing Ben & Becky's performance: http://www.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=3C63ACD8407E3ABA

Friday's the last semi-finals, so we can work out who's going to be on:
-Gregg Pritchard (singer, see first post)
-Hollie Steele (singer, see first post)
-Aidan Davis (dancer)
-DCD Seniors (dancers)
-The Dreambears (dancers)
-Good Evans (singing family)
-Luke Clements (juggler)
-Martin Macham (guitarist)
As I said, I think Hollie is one to look out for to really improve on the already great audition. However, I'm going to have to go with Aidan Davis for taking top votes; very likable, the judges adore him, and he's just really, really good.
Looking at the others, it's easy to break down why. I think we can rule out The Dreambears (a novelty act, really), Martin Macham (simply not good enough, not particularly charismatic either), Luke Clements (novelty, his audition was juggling apples which he ate while juggling) and Good Evans (not good enough, might make top 3 but would never be put through by the judges).
That leaves Gregg and DCD Seniors. I'm doubtful the fan voting would go for Gregg just out of it being unusual, regardless of performance, and DCD Seniors have too many people to impress enough because it's hard to convey over television. So I am curious as to who will take third in voting.
And just because I'm so confident of my selections, let's go one step further and predict Hollie's song. Let's go with... My Favourite Things from The Sound of Music.
Comments:
Thought Ben & Becky deserved a bit better than they got, but Stavros Flatly's is just great to win, and Shaheen was far and away the best act of the night.

There were four very good acts here, the top 3 were the ones who got the top 3 votes, so that's all well and good. The bad part would be only choosing 2 of those 3. Callum deserved to go through, so did Julian and 2 Grand. CRAZINESS I TELL YOU! Anyway, I'm still happy with the selection, 2 Grand is my sentimental favourite. Plus I completely called them singing Somewhere Out There.

Tell me to get back to rewriting this site so it's not horrible on mobileFinals Saturday! It feels like a shame that it seems almost inevitable Susan Boyle has won it before it's even started, but maybe we'll see a surprise. Given the talent in opposition, I'm doubtful she'll pull off the best performance.
Other than that, I am fresh out of predictions on this one.

Not spending much time on television, I haven't really seen a reality show since maybe the third season of American Idol. Just recently, however, I have been following Britain's Got Talent via Youtube, and I have to say that the quality is markedly high.
Compared to say American Idol, where it's all singing, and everyone has to between the ages of something like 16-23, Got Talent is for anything entertaining with as many people of as many ages as you like.
These are my 8 favourite auditions so far.
