Rainbow Six Siege is a fucking blast and one of the best mp shooters since, frankly TF2. It's actually one of the best examples of trying to do a tactical shooter, but then streamlining it for a gamepad. The lack of a shitty "campaign" and an overreaction to how they handle DLC (it's basically Overwatch) got the game a bit of the shaft, but as far as pure play is concerned it's legit.
Valient Hearts I like because it's flat out more endearing narrative wise, I think some of the play can be a bit unsatisfying, but the games best narrative beats are done through it's systems which I like. And I think the characters are pretty likable, game is all heart. Child of Light, The Division, and Watchdogs are really boring. Grow Home I want to like more but, eh.
I can't say I'm ever excited for Ubisoft games. I'm excited for anything Michel Ancel does, my disagreements with Beyond Good and Evil aside, his Rayman games are dope, and Wild looks fun. Likewise it was his team that made Valient Hearts, the only one of these smaller Ubisoft games I dig. Allegedly Far Cry turned it around, but the 5 hours of Far Cry 3 I played were boring as fuck. On the other hand For Honor's multiplayer (not that single player, it looks gross) and Steep look fun. On the other other other hand, Watchdogs 2 looks boring as shit. On the other other other other other hand, Rainbow Six Siege is fucking dope.
So not excited, but I don't automatically dismiss them necessarily.
Oh and I'm playing The Division, it blows. Fucking Wasdie game.
Their games don't really excite me. A lot follow the open world formula and after the umpteenth Assassin's Creed, it's gotten pretty stale. Watchdogs was nothing to write home about , FC4 is just a prettier FC3, and I haven't tried The Division nor any Rainbow Six. I remember when they were the most exciting third party. Child of Light does look good though.
I'm excited for Watch Dogs 2 and Ghost Recon Wildlands. I think Far Cry 3 and 4 were really great games that I just never got around to picking up. The Division is really good too but I never picked it up because it seems like a difficult game for the lone wolf types like me.
Far Cry has always been great, other than FC2 which was a bit boring.
I look forward to their stuff just like any other company I guess. Nobody is pumping out the greatness to the extent they used to so Ubi is no different. At least they're not Konami.

OMG LOL I totally forgot about Assasins Creed. How telling is that, that it's fallen so low with me that it's literally become forgettable.
To me, Ubisoft was a better EA, with more flavour and a French/French Canadian twist.
I used to greatly look forward to their games. They have some stuff which is still interesting but a lot of their recent stuff does nothing for me.
I would love to see experimental Ubisoft back, like the Red Steel 2 or Zombi U Ubisoft. Or the tight Single player focused Ubisoft back of BGE and POP.

Great post. I don't see that much enthusiasm from gamers on the new Rainbow Six. I wonder what the sales numbers are. Poor Splinter Cell bombed Best one yet too. I haven't heard anything on Wild for ages.

Too long; didn't read: Games that one of my boys likes.
Uh, Wasdie is one of my site mates, he plays a lot of games that don't really have an ending. And some of them are rad; Planetside 2 is cool, and he likes loot games like Diablo or what Borderlands and Destiny are. And I assure you not only do I in my infinite "Gagan hates everything" dislike them, but I I am stunned that it actually needs to be explained to people that as an entire style of game, there is no depth to any of it. It never challenges you as a player be it mechanical, reflex, strategy, tactics, problem solving, whatever. It's just mindlessly doing the most basic action of whatever type of action game said loot rpg is, and then keep playing this skinner box for the next carrot.
It's so mind numbing as a gameplay experience. I at least somewhat get the love for games like Diablo, the character customization is more robust and your build options can be labyrinthine. But Destiny and its ilk? There is nothing to the character builds.
I'll take Doom over that any day of the week. Fuck I'll take Call of Duty with mountain dew, doritos, and the latest and greatest in EDC music over that any day of the week. The Division is a bit better than Destiny, but that's like saying I'd rather get herpes than aids.
Is that the same Wasdie who was a moderator at Gamespot?
And here I was thining it meant a succesfull small independent developer who had grown larger. Kind of like a yestergay or a hasbien.

Yep.Arma for instance is a Wasdie game, which conceptually is pretty fucking cool. Do I ever really want to play it? Nope.
Translating that into a you people speak
Splatoon- a gamergeek game
Antichamber - a foolz game
There is no real elaborate definition, it just allows me and another mate to dismiss a game for the sheer joy of picking on someone lol
In recent years I haven't seen much excitement here around Ubisoft games. There was some buzz around Watchdogs 1.
But since then? They seem to have adopted this persistently online open world formula. Since then the games they've released or shown off the top of my head:
I didn't have the greatest E3, being unable to watch any of the conferences so I dont really know if they showed anything new at E3.
So are you still excited for Ubisoft games? No one is playing The Crew or Division I can see here for instance.
