Update: I... decided not to sell after all. When I looked at the 360 games not on the PC and not likely to go to the PC, and then compared them to my Wii library, I just couldn't stand to get rid of what I have for those. My judgments always seem to be so damned premature, YAR!

Thanks to Iga for having a hand in this. Nyaa  If I'm just patient enough I'll end up fine at the end of this generation, just with more PC games and a 360 controller to play some of them with. And I won't miss out on the next Zelda. It's also conceivable that I'll try one of these more casual games at some point, but they're not priority.

What did I do?

Mentioned upgrading my computer with the money from the Wii. It just made me think that getting a 360 would be getting a system because I don't have access to its games. But I do happen to have access to most of the games I really want for it... I have a gaming PC, for squirrels' sake! I need to actually treat it like the game system it is. And several of the current 360 exclusives are likely to appear for the PC in the future. No sense in buying a system for true exclusives that I wouldn't get rid of my Wii games for. Kind of a duh thing, I know, but I guess I needed to look at things from that perspective.

Edit: about your Animal Crossing problem, ask Yoda to make a Hamster filter for you! That should block all Hamster related stuff from your computer, which would have the added benefit of blocking 90 % of the Animal Crossing stuff! Nyaa

LOL Screw you, Iga! I already got blasted in the podcast today Nyaa

Why not put the link to the site on your Gamespot sigs?.

I have that. Nyaa

Does it have a slogan? It needs a slogan next to it. Think of something snappy.

Beaver man, who  is going ape shit over Mushroom Men here? Only Dvader has played it and said its cool but short. The rest of us have just been watching it from afar with one eye. Like watching a dog to see if it steals your dinner. And how is the site going crazy over animal crossing? It's two guys in one thread, mostly. You said in your other thread that you weren't interested in trauma center or raving rabbids, but again, no one here has talked about those games or is gushing in love for them in threads or on GGWeekly.

No one is going ape over the Conduit either. Everyone is saying that it looks linear and might be okay, with decent graphics, for the system. The only reason people are watching it is because everyone is shafting the Wii with crappy third party games and it looks like someone is at least trying to put in some effort.

As for Animal Crossing posts dotted about the only other place they might appear other than the thread is GGWeekly and that's a place where anyone can talk about anything random so you can just as easily say that Mirror's edge talk has been all over the site because we've had just as many posts in GGWeekly about that as AC. Like 7.

I can understand your problem, like you said it seems to be your own interest, or disinterest in games coupled with your financials. Unfortunately you don't own a 360 or PS3 yet so you can't bring that content view here to share with others, I would hope that you do in the future. Or if you decide to chat about PC games, Punk ass is here. And if you have a PC game that is also on PS3/360 it's more likely you would have more people to chat too if you decided to post a topic. I'm not saying it's guaranteed, I've posted several threads here with impressions of a game only I am playing.

If I were you I would wait for E3 minimum before selling your Wii. Nintendo has developed this awful habit of announcing games and shock releasing them within 6 months or less. They just finished their round of big games and the next set will be in a state that is viewable at E3 and if their release strategy pans out they will be availible months later. You also have traditional games that might not be blockbuser AAAs, but might well be worth playing like Fatal Frame 4 etc etc.

Everyday you are seeing better support, DQ 10, Monster Hunter 3, Tales Mothership title, FFCC. Yes I know LOL You are probably not interested in any of those. But they are massive sequels in massive franchises and proper traditional games, not just Raving Rabbids clones.

I'm also getting this general vibe from guys that there are types of posters, active posters, lurkers, guys who just jump into threads to comment and those that actually make the threads. Newshounds and news receptors. It's all getting complicated Nyaa

I'm almost getting the impression that there are guys out there that want other people to post the content they want to talk about because they don't or wont do it themselves? Is that right?

Because I almost feel like people are saying that its my responsibility to be excited about things they want to talk about. That's not fair to me.

You might regret this Iga.

No, I don't think this place is Nintendo centric. Whatever the fuck that means.  This is, or was conceived since the beginning, some sort of collective effort to build a place where news from all industry could be found, not only Nintendo related ones.

No, lol. No slogan. It's kind of lame actually. "Want some gaming news? The VG Press".

Actually our slogan is VG Press - We have <class> and <style>

But I think Beaver is right that we are kinda niche. But niche is awesome as far as I am concerned!

New podcast with me in it is up, http://thevgpress.com/pressroom.php

We recorded yesterday, it was the same cast as last time. We talk about NPD of course. I go off on Home. We discuss if that website, thevgpress, is too Nintendo centric, I think I mention some of you guys here. Its a long one though, an hour.

That needs to go on my answering machine. Stat.

That was a fun podcast.

As for me 'leaving', I just don't have enough time to spend between 2 different boards lately and I figure I may as well post here since people will talk about more than Wii. I mean, every time I make a post there that's non-Wii, I'm lucky to get a few replies, and even luckier to get replies that don't have kind of a "Ewww, those overrated HD systems" tone to them. I KNOW you know what I'm saying.

I kind of feel that the site was a nice experiment that maybe doesn't really need to go on. I mean, I don't want to take away from the great job they did making it, hell I could never have come up with a fully featured site like that in a million years. But its like, what's the point when you only have 5 people that post there, you know? Its obvious at this point that its not growing beyond that, and if they really want to talk with more posters, well, why not just come back here. or go someplace else?

Seeeeeeeee, there are others with similar opinions.

Yeah about the same thing Edge said to me. Only difference is the HD console part. Edge mad 2 threads here, one got 7 replies (Rare are insane) and another one got 34 replies (What happened to Square)! Maybe he ment we were ignoring him on the GG weekly, that happens a lot there because of the chaotic nature of the discussion there. Most of my non-babe posts get ignored too. Hmm a shame we could use him here.

The reason we won't come back at GS is because we will end of getting moderated too often.

You should put down: "All bitches here: VGPress"

As for Edge, he's cool. Would have been nice if he'd just said that he'd decided to leave or whatever or that he didn't have time anymore, instead of just disappearing. I wouldn't have expected that from him.

Let's face it though, you're lucky to get a few replies on any subject here, not just Wii stuff. His Square thread got more replies than other Nintendo stuff. On GGWeeky you have a bunch of people all throwing out random stuff so it's not suprising if no one picks up on your comment. That's what the forum is for.

I won't have a bad word said about Edge. What I will say is that you know, he isn't the kind of guy to instigate discussion. Rare is insane. Square is shit. Yeah. I mean what I'm getting from this thread more than anything is the difference between active posters and moderates, lurkers and newshounds.

What did people expect when this site was here? That it would suddenly explode to a 1000 users? Yodariquo has made a technically good site that works. But if you want numbers you have to do SOMETHING to attract numbers. Content, reccomendations, exclusives, all sorts of crap that no one is willing to do. And people can't sit around waiting. If you want to really talk about something you have to post it in the first place. Sure you might not get a ton of replies, most of the time I'm talking to myself, but you can't just sit there and do nothing then wonder why things aren't going your way.

I like this place as a chill out spot to chat among friends.

Hmmm I see you have put a link in Vader's VG press podcast thread! What have you done! Our worlds are colliding. The demons of GS are going to enter our realm of light and destroy us! Nyaa

I was looking at the first 3 pages of GGWeekly this week. Which comprimises posts from Monday. Just monday. And look at all the stuff talked about or commented on?

RE5 preview, LBP sales discussion, Spike VGA awards, Tales Mothership game, God of War 3, Mafia, Professor Layton.

That is a broad range of games and systems right there.
