It's me, Steel. No, new accounts have no power. Are we able to take our own privileges away at our discretion?

As an interim, until we have some stability:

How about we have two mods, given the split shift nature of the site? You and geek usually start when I stop, I'd be happy to take the time that you are not on.

Having two people enables discussion between them about what is appropriate or not/ sets up an appeal process.

We'd also have to get Yoda's co-op in turning off open rights and assigning mod powers.

Though, seeing how new users cannot mod (from hamsterz test) this may not be as critical as it first seemed.

Mental Note: When Yoda says something is "Forever"...

...he means "FOR EVER."

Wow, Yoda's ban button is serious business. I can't un-ban my Hamster account!

Okay crisis averted. We need to give mods data to Dark Robio or Iwata or any other alt account. We do not need mods just yet, we just need to prevent accidental deletion of threads. So we can give let's say an alt account all the privileges, so it remains out of reach.

You can't accidentally delete threads. It pops up with a window asking you to confirm!

Pick any of Raven's threads and try it out!

I'll wait here for the results!

Basically we had a huge fight which led Yoda to vacant is position as God of the VG Press.

PS: I have no idea what actually happened, where and when.

Okay we are fine for now.

Okay let's just wait for Yoda, hopefully he will be back. If not, then we are in trouble, because the Enterprise would have lost its chief engineer. (If you are wondering, that would be Scotty)

^ This all started over THAT ^ ...?

Seriously...?

That makes no sense...

We've never be so formal before where we couldn't look past trivial things like THAT!

Yeah, we posted our own Decade Lists and such... Yeah... Individually... but THAT'S the beauty of this site... wildly different individual personalities that all work so well together.

Blogs to me are like a journal of sorts...

Forums are a place for open discussion...

I'd like to know a Niche Gamer's view of the best games of the decade...

...versus a classic gamer's...

...versus a hard-core gamer's...

...versus a well-rounded gamer's...

Throwing them all under a lump "Games of the Decade" topic dilutes the effect of the topic and makes it seem like we are all trying to get together and make one grand list...

...which never works!

I don't understand why that was such a big deal.

^ It seems to me that Yoda likes everything to be well organized and in its proper place. I don't think it was this issue specifically that really upset him, but the overall lack of respect that was shown when he tried to enforce the rules.

Bingo, it was not a big deal. The only thing Yoda would have done is move it towards a blog. Not a big deal if you are honest. Basically "if you are going to make a mistake I am going to fix it for you" type of thing.

You know me, and that I usually do not shy away from confrontations, but I did there. Mine Seinfeld gif was to show that I was out of there.

The paranoia in this thread is crazy. Nothing bad will happen, what makes you think Yoda is not coming back. He said he is moving, he told us last week that he would be busy this weekend and would not be able to do the podcast.

Agreed. I'm certain Yoda hasn't left the site or anything crazy like that. People tend to imagine the worst case scenario. This has been a good wake-up call, though. It's not all fun and games running a website like this.
