But I'm more talking about the atmosphere and directing.
If I've seen it, then probably not. But the atmosphere of the book isn't very X-Filesy at all...except that it's conspiracy theoryish and paranoidy I suppose?

Mmk. Definitely think they're different kinds of paranoid and conspiracy theoryish but fair enough.

It's just got this tense paranoid atmosphere about it. Reminds me a bit of Dark Skies which was retro X-Files episodes inspired.

House 2?
Finished the first two seasons of The 100. Third is not on Netflix. I enjoyed it a lot, though I suppose it was more of a guilty pleasure than a quality show. Not sure what I'll move onto now.

Season 3 is still airing. Tonight is episode 5 of the 3rd Season at least for the US I don't know if it premiered outside of the US yet.
I started watching Marco Polo and all I keep thinking is ... Bam Margera
Has anyone seen the Crouching Tiger Hiden Dragon sequel Sword of Destiny? I confess I was oblivious to its existence until a few days ago when Netflix started telling me it would become available yesterday. Is it any good or is it one of those straight to dvd sequels which don't even count.
Anyway, I think I will watch it tonight as I have quite missed seeing a Wuxia film. Hope it's not too bad.
Watched Sword of Destiny tonight with a friend. It's nowhere near as good as the original Crouching Tiger but it's well made, nicely choreographed, fun and relaxing to watch. Made me realise I missed this kind of wuxia films.

I'm looking forward to seeing it but I hear its all in English which is going to annoy me if the pronounciation is bad.
I reviewed a lot of Asian movies in the Movie reference thread, you should check it out more thouroughly. I also rented The Grand Budapest Hotel, is it any good?

Grand Budabest Hotel is a masterpiece. One of my favourite movies of all time and by far the best movie of last year. I am very partial to Wes Anderson but I think anyone can recognise the greatness of TGBH.
bugsonglass said:Nope. All Mandarin with English subtitles.
WTF? That goes against clips I've seen and things I've read. Maybe what you saw was a Mandarin dub over the original Engish language film?

No, I'm pretty sure it was the original spoken language. It was also the default, I didn't change anything in the settings. It became available on Netflix last Friday. You should have it as well, why don't you try it.

I will. I am dubious though as I saw a trailer in English and I have seen Mandarin dubbing over Cantonese language films as the mainland Chinese market has grown. I wouldn't be surprised if a company did a Mandarin voice over.
