Beat phase 1 of Ganon last night. Looked awesome, reminded me of the Wii U Zelda tech demo. Bit annoyed at how the laser beam timing was different from the Guardians. I used my fireproof outfit and deflected fireballs to beat him. Also used my 5x Lynel bow with bomb arrows.

Loved when Zelda said that line about courage not being lost. Then I put it into sleep mode and went to bed.

Not sure I will have the motivation to max out every outfit after I beat him. Most are done, just need a few star fragments and Lynel parts. My house is decked out with the finest most powerful weapons out there, Lynel swords, Royal shields and bows etc.

Why didn't you finish him?

It was getting late. I tried to save it but it said I couldn't. I had 30% battery left on Switch and it drains about 2% leaving it in sleep mode for 8 hrs or something ridiculous and instantly wakes up from sleep mode right at the point you left it, so I was fine.

Was browsing a guide to hyrule castle and I must have just bypassed most of it. I just entered from the north, paragliding across. Then did some climbing. Killed a couple of guardians and used revallis wind. I got to ganon pretty easily. Now I'm reading there are mines, harbours and kitchens etc?

Beat ganon. Done pretty much everything but 1 shrine I'm missing. Still considering a point by point korok hunt. Also explored hyrule castle. So good. I beat the lynel trap
later on came back to it and they pulled the same shit. I revali winded out the window lol.

So what's the final verdict. I think you were somewhat disappointed earlier?

My final verdict is in limbo, I've been writing this review for two weeks now, keep getting distracted.

  • All shrines found.
  • All Sidequests done.

Gots my special outfit for doing all shrines.

I think the only thing I didn't do is max out the armour that needed star fragments. I have a ton of cash and starting buying ancient arrows and using 3 or 5x arrows to easily blow up Guardians Happy

Um, yes and no. This game is incredible in many ways and I still could probably sink in another 30 hrs just exploring for korok seeds. It's hard to rate it regarding past Zeldas. I see it as Nu Zelda vs Classic Zelda.

Both are very different, this is all about exploration which I love, whilst the past games were rigid but still awesome for the intricate designed dungeons. They both have merits. I prefer classic, but BOTW could easily trump classic simply by doing traditional dungeons too which would turn it into the ultimate uber game.

Still, BOTW is awesome. Happy And a great game to showcase the Switch, a game this big, this polished and easily flipping between offscreen and TV.

You know the DLC this summer? It has a new map feature. Do you think it relates to the korok locations? BTW, has anyone tried the map sensor with koroks? Does it work?

I don't think that you can use the locator sensor for the Koroks. I was going to do that myself but when I went to take a picture of a Korok no identifying name came up for it like when you take pictures of items, enemies, etc.

Went back to Zelda to do the coliseum. Easier than I thought after the lynel. It's pretty easy to stock up on awesome weapons there. Also went back to 100% all the minigames. Those two horseback ones are borderline broken, especially the equestrian obstacle course. I beat it first time only to have my horse throw me off at the finish line. Tried it 20 times more and there are certain gates my horse just stops at. I was so pissed off I slaughtered my horse, then knocked about its corpse and shot the shit out of the stable with bomb arrows. Then tried the horseback arrow game and the controls are all over the place, the targets are too far away. It's just a shit show. Did the super gut challenge and was given one shroom for it. Spent the rest of my time fighting lynels. Came across a super powerful which broke tons of shields bows and weapons. Turns out he had a 100 rated weapon that took off half my lifebar in one hit. Good times 😅

Just watched my son beat this today.  I think this may be his first finished game.

That's awesome. Sadly after beating the Game of the Forever it's all downhill from here.

Agreed.  I can see why GG holds it off because it's difficult to go back to it.

Do you guys study the map for interesting formations? There are still many pockets of things I'm finding. Tons more koroks too.

Yeah I did that the whole time I was playing the game. I'd look around the map and anything I thought looked interesting I'd place a pin or marker there and travel to it and explore.
