There are some 46-49 level uniques where you at. And level 50 enemies ahead of you. Maybe go ahead and move the story along. Don't worry about the timed sidequests, they will remain active a long time. Go ahead until you reach 2 more areas.

Damn this game is massive, the enviroments are huge. I'm currently at level 51 with a game time of about 67 hours. I'm in the Valak Mountain an have just obtained the Magma Rock. Still thoroughly enjoying the game.

I've also been trying to do as many sidequests as I can. No doubt that there's some I'm missing as there's a ton of these things. I currently have each area in Colony 6 reconstructed to level 3. It's at 40% completion and a population of 58.

Hats off to Monolithsoft for creating these MASSIVE areas to explore.  It's certainly overwhelming, but in a very cool way.  I want them hired to create the areas of Zelda Wii U!

It's official, I pulled an Aspro with this game: I'm 40-ish hours in and I just somehow NOW noticed someone mentioning Trading with people. I had the 'Controller Help' icons turned off so the interface wouldn't be so cluttered. I had to turn them back on so I could SEE that you have to press 'Y' on the Classic Controller to 'Trade' with people you have high Affinity with. I was wondering what all of that 'Collectible' crap was for...

Check your items, some have an exclamation point.  I might have ignored it before thinking it had to do with a sidequest.

When I say explore i mean exploring to complete side quests, there is no point to walk around with no quests. But if I do that there is zero challenge in the main quest. This game is completely horribly unbalanced. I can beat every boss without trying.

You are like the only person I have seen complain about this.

They helped with the graphics on Skyward Sword.

To give presents, go to collectibles, select an item and choose who to give it to. DO NOT give away or sell items with an ! next to it, they are for quests.

I reached sword valley, so many cool events happened! This area seems badass. Well I finally met a yellow leveled enemy this giant mecha spider looking thing. It kicked my ass, I am so not used to this. Well now I can't play it for a few days. I need to come up with a strategy though I see no way to beat it without a healer, so GG is right. It is impossible for me to do enough damage without someone healing my team.

Yeah I've always had a healer in my party. I just don't seem to play as well without one.

Do everything in Sword Valley while you are there, otherwise they will lock out the area once you get to a certain point.

Depends if you just want to plow through the story or if you want to explore and do all the quests. You've still got a lot of stuff to see, you're nowhere near the end yet, so don't worry. I thought that Eryth Sea was near the end, boy was I wrong. This game is like a Duracell battery, it goes on and on. But in a good way.

Just had a huge HOLY SHIT moment:

I was swimming around the Eryth Sea, trying to find all of the Landmarks. I was just noticing how huge, open and vast the sea is. It was taking me several minutes just to swim from the shore to an island. I swung the camera to the north and was looking at this strange, curved mountain formation behind the Prison Tower. The mountain came to a point at what seemed to be a huge horn-like formation...

...and then I realized: I was looking at the HEAD of the Bionis! As huge and VAST as the sea was, It looked like a PUDDLE beneath the head of the Bionis! Then I realized: THAT IS JUST THE HEAD!? It just put into graphical form the scale and scope of what the developers were imagining WHERE exactly this game is taking place. When not blatantly looking at the Map screen they show when they chart your progress, you tend to forget the game is taking place on the body of a "fallen god!"
