Oh yeah, have that guy Doug who hangs out in the hanger as your 4th party member, if you have him and Elma they alternate between calling out for covering fire or melee attacks for soul voices and you can pretty much chain together soul voice attacks.

What's everyones favourite creatures so far?

Mine:

  • Tree Deer Ent thing
  • Ornate black horse thing
  • Giant tortoise thing that springs out the ground

How do you even get to the top two continents without a skell and flying? There's an ocean between them on the world map.

There is a walkway between Primordia and Sylvalum. I didn't know that when I first got to Sylvalum I swam the whole way there.

When I got to Sylvalum I used that Aerial View camera by pressing R + Up on the Dpad. I was so close to the walkway but I didn't see it until I was already in Sylvalum.

in the city I wouldn't mind zooming in even further to see the characters faces you're talking to better.

You can actually zoom in all the way into basically 1st person view. Its pretty cool to do in the city. For a console game, it probably has the most dynimic camera system I've seen.

Yeah, I was feeling adventurous and discovered the Primordia Waterway between Primordia and Sylvalum. I swam a bit to avoid enemies that were too strong for me but for the most part you can just run along the pathway. Also there are some treasures and collectibles to be picked up along the way. This game was made to be explored.

Wow. LOL bet you're happy there's auto run. Quite impressive the game even allows you to.

Cool, I never thought of that. I'm doing it next time.

Where on the primordia map does this walkway start?

Oh yeah, check-out my miiverse posts, some guy told me how to get that art that heals the whole party.

I'm thinking of choosing the middle option.

That walkway is somewhere in the middle of the primordia map. you have to swim at some sections because the enemies are around level 50 and they will attack if they hear you because they have the lightning bolt symbol near their level.

One thing that pisses me off is that they did not include a LOAD GAME option in the menu. If you get killed by something & just want to reload your last save before the rest of your squad is wiped out, you have to go back to the title screen THEN load from there. That's like two minutes wasted.
If you let the game restart you, they don't use your save spot....they use the last checkpoint area you were at which is usually WAAAY behind where you saved. Stupid.

You don't actually go back though to that point in you're gameplay time to just go back to a the last location in the game world. You don't lose anything that you collected or done, it's not actually loading your last game save so do not reset the game if you die because then you will lose everything that you've done from your last save to the point you died.

Also it's good to save often just in case the power goes out or the game crashes because you could possibly lose a lot of progress.

So that's what it means. I thought they had electrical attacks.

Yeah since you don't lose anything I rarely quit to the menu.

One thing I like about this game is that you can sneak past powerful enemies and find areas with lower ones behind them. So they haven't used level to restrict your exploration.

The saving is a bit weird.  If you load the game again, all enemies respawn.  I killed a tyrant once before saving and going to bed, only to find him standing right next to me when I loaded my game again the next day.

Well, you do lose something. That's time traveling.

Sometimes they set you back literally half a continent away. I'd rather just relead my game right where I left off and go from there.

Fast travel then. Unless you're running through large areas of the game not finding new locations or planting probes then you should be able to fast travel pretty close to any spot where you died.

Yeah I find it fairly easy to sneak past most any enemy so as to explore as much as possible and plant as many probes as possible allowing me quite a lot of freedom to fast travel to or near most places whenever the need arises.

I think we should rename this website as: Sandy Bum Canyon.

Who's with me?

It sets you back to the nearest landmark, so you could explore by heading towards beacon spots, exponentially opening up the map.

Anyone else like stealthing up rock surfaces to get past enemies?

BTW how long have you guys played? I'm at 30 hrs and barely started Oblivia.

Oh yeah I tried out NLA in first person. Soooo much better. It looks like Deus Ex from that view, you can see all the characters faces properly you can see your crew running behind you. I went up to that L blue guy and he dwarfed Lin in height.
