I thought there was some rating system so you can choose to play the highest rated?

The highest rated seems to be stuff like "Metroid level!", it wasn't that great.

So you're saying they get highly rated because they have popular names or themes?

That or auto plays. I get that they take work and time to get them working so everything works as it should, but to play them? Boring. If I wanted to sit and watch a level I'd put on YouTube.  Sadly about 80%(at least) of the levels are shit on a stick, but you do find some gems here and there.  I'm hoping things will get better and this is just a matter of people learning what works and what doesn't.

I'll probably get it, but maybe not any time soon.

I never got into making levels (that lazy life), so I'll play other people's levels, and enjoy me some endless Mario : )

When I played it the level only had 20% completion.

My levels only had 17% for the easy level and 14% for the harder level.

What's this? The levels play themselves?

Basically they set everything up precisely so that you can beat the level by not touching anything. Those levels usually start with a spring shooting out of a Bullet Bill Launcher to hit Mario or a spring falling and hitting Mario out of the way.

Yeah the most popular levels are like elaborate setups where you press nothing and all sorts of crap happens on screen. Sure it's artistically interesting but come the fuck on, this is mario. It's going to be hell finding good levels.

The other thing, the no checkpoint kills any long levels. If you decide to have a hard section at the end of the level no one will want to replay the entire level just to try it again.

So I put a total of like two hours into this over the weekend, I was a bit busy with another game you may of heard of. Nyaa

I played some of your guys levels, here is my honest opinion. Nintyfan, I appreciate the out of the box thinking with some of these levels but there were quite a few annoying hard moments that seem to be there just to be hard. Starting a level with huge long jumps that have to be perfect to complete was annoying, especially since there is no checkpoint. The mansion one was your best level but that also had some cheap deaths (ghosts from the blocks at the end, grrr. Again if there was a checkpoint this wouldn't be an issue.) but again some great ideas there.

Leo loved it. You levels seemed to have a theme, they felt like a natural progression of difficulty. The first level was a simple but fun mario level, nothing challenging but it doesn't have to be. Second one started to test my skills. Keep it up.

Gemini pac man one was great. I enjoyed your levels but I am having problems remembering what i was going to say about them, I was starting to fall asleep at that point since it was late. I remember thinking they were well designed, I think one level had multiple paths... Or was that Leo's, I don't remember. Good job though.

I played some of the popular ones, the most interesting being a mario shump where you ride the cloud with the fire flower and it gets nuts. Even has a boss fight at the end. Very creative and fun.

Some general tips, don't piss off the player unless the level is specifically designed to piss off the player. Be generous with mushrooms, no one likes one hit deaths, especially with no checkpoints. Make sure the level has a good flow, it's sometimes hard to see where someone will get stuck as a creator but try to anticipate it.
