I'm really trying to keep this very General. I could write a 3000 word essay on the game so far. There is so much to go over, mostly great, some not. If you have questions ask.
Started playing Ground Zeroes finally to prepare for Tuesday.
I have no idea how it connects to Phantom Pain.
If you rescue POW's and capture Marines, do they become recruits for your base in PP?
I read it uses your save to open things in the main game, but I don't know what.
Vader, do GZ and PP play exactly the same? Or was GZ just an example of what the Fox engine could do?
When GZ came out I didn't pay it too much attention because PP was so far away... Well, life happens and a year or so passed; I'm now trying to play catch up.

Pretty much the same, TPP has like 20 times more things you can do though. It really was like a prototype compared to what you do in this game . There is a save file transfer but it doesn't work yet since the servers are still down.
That moment you go in your first mission with DD and get dropped off in the middle of the desert and you realize you no longer have a horse to ride. Stupid dog. 😛

Yeah so....what are you wearing?
Don't fuckin' ignore me motherfucker...
What sucks for me, is that I have to wait until AT LEAST the weekend to get MGS5. I waited too long to get the Collector's Edition...and didn't really want to give Konami the money. So I found someone on ebay selling them. So I have to wait for the dude to ship it to me after he gets it on release day. Fuck my life.
Well, I still need to finish up Resident Evil Rev2 and Batman anyway.

You have no idea, this shit is nuts!!!!
Here's something REALLY interesting... Ground Zeroes got a 356 meg update today...
Wonder what it did?
Don't have time to play now, but if one of you do, look for some changes, maybe?
Changed Snake's voice to Hayter's...or the medic's voice to Hayter's.
16 hours in 8 main missions done, 8% done.
The gameplay is basically perfect, never played any steakth game that offers this level of freedoms and has such well designed game areas. I did one mission which lasted an hour and a half and felt like MGS3, going across multiple terrains and ending in a big base, helicopters searching for me, it was so intense.
Before writing this I did a mission which involved tanks and me riding on my horse like Indiana jones, completely unscripted, felt like an epic action movie.
The game keeps evolving with a steady drip of new items, weapons, enemies and so on. Enemies are adapting to my strategies, missions are getting more and more complex. The base management keeps adding new kinks and expanding, it's definetly like peace Walker and you need the gear that comes from it.
But all that said I have seen like 5 minutes of cutscenes in the last 10 hours. The start is slow and lacking energy, that tightly wound style of past games is gone. There are times it doesn't feel like the same series at all. Not sure how some are going to feel about this. I do believe the MGS moments are coming it's just really really spread out.
