Reading lots of reading. Will have a sum up soon.
I have read a bunch of the reviews, almost all have been spoiler free so they are all safe to read. Basically it's universally praised for its open world gameplay, pretty much it sets a new standard for how open world gameplay could work. Most everyone says it is the greatest stealth game ever made. No game offers the depth of gameplay options and so much content as this one does. There is massive praise for the base management saying it puts base building from games like DA:I to shame. Every gameplay system feeds one another perfectly creating an addictive feedback loop. Most played for over 40 hours and only did the story, most have tons and tons of extra stuff to still do.
The story is where it gets tricky. Some sites say it's extremely compelling and the best thematically. But others say the story is very sparse, the game goes many hours with no story content at all. And most say the ending is weird and will be polarizing. one review said the end end game made you play missions on super hard which can frustrate players.
One thing I found weird is how many reviews didn't really see the full game. I have a feeling some didnt see the true ending. Many said they only played the story and still have tons to do. Destruction straight up said they couldn't play online so they never tried the FOB. Aren't these things kind of important? Why are they reviewing the game without really playing all of it, not to 100% but not missing key features.
seems like there should be no worries about grinding or microtransactions, no reviews make mention of them.
Either way it seems this is a landmark title. It will revolutionize the way open world games are looked at.
Meh, except for the story stuff we knew all this. And 1. who cares about the story stuff, 2. it may not even be accurate due to the conditions the reviews were played it.
I've been reading that you have to replay certain missions on hard to see the true ending. Not happy with that.

Yeah this is scaring plenty of people. For me I dont mind since I plan to play all missions on crazy hard any way. But many are not like me and it's never good to make it a requirement.

Yeah, I thought you would enjoy it. I'm not big on really hard missions, plus I lack the time to tackle them anyway.
I received a review copy of this game and I can say without a doubt it is a 0 out of 10. It doesn't even work.
Whenever I put it in my Wii U disc drive it says game not recognised.
Kojima really wanted to get MGS5 on Wii U, but then he realized Wii U was for babies and decided a port to the 10 year old XBOX 360 was a better choice.
Gamespot gave it a 10!
