I basicaly stopped playing this game in favor of Gears of War mp and Rocket League, and with Halo and Battlefront on the horizon I don't know if I'll go back. Especially if Killing Floor 2 and Unreal Tournament stop being early access games!!

What? This place wasn't depressing enough anymore according to you? Why come in and say such mean things? WHY?!
Also, what's wrong with only playing on splathour? You could join us and maybe we could actually get enough people in to form a squad one day.
Played Splatzone matches for the first time the other day. Up to that point I had only played Tower Control and Turf Wars. Boy, is Splat zone easy. I played a dozen matches and only lost once. I went up a whole level (in ranked battle) in the span of half an hour or so. But I must admit, the people I got matched with after ranking up were a lot better at it.
Also, I figured that maybe for splatzones a different weapon would be better, but no matter what mode or stage I play, I never play any better than I do with my trusty .52Gal.

I don't know what awful thing I said, I'm just saying I almost forgot this game exists. Rocket League became my mp game of choice, Gears recently came out, and I've got a buddy I play that game with. Plus new mp games on the horizon, with MGSV taking up most of my time, and me making more of a run at my backlog.
I'd be down for some splat squadding though. Gotta give me times and days though : >

Splatoon Saturdays: The Squadhour starts at 21:00 UTC
So far we usually manage 3 players. GG and me are practically a given, and then there's Robio and Nintyfan if they can make it. And aspro for the last 15 minutes if he remembers to put his alarm clock.
Oh i can't do saturdays.
I work two jobs, mon-friday accounting in the AMs, Friday-Saturday Night I work at a restaurant for extra money (read drinking money). And Sunday is the day of my lord: The National Football League.

Moray towers splatzone sucks. I recently ranked up to B+ and was paired with A rank people in matches and it was easier than fighting in the B's. Have you tried the Rainmaker? I used to hate it but I had some awesome matches yesterday.
Also I hit a new record in turf wars over 1600 score.

I've only played Bluefin Depot and Arowana mall. And no, I haven't played Rainmaker yet. I don't think I've even seen it available yet. I think my maximum score is around tha 1450 mark.
I am now A - rank
In other news I have been in 6 matches over the past two days where my team has been lumped with an inactive player who scores 0 points. With 0 kills and 0 deaths.
We lost of course, but the game should reset the match if there is an inactive player and kick that deadweight out.

I find Rainmaker matches more than any others.
Congrats!
I'm still on B, but I haven't played since I made it to be...
Rainmaker is kinda fun, but I'm at a loss as to how so many people are so bad with the Rainmaker in their hands.
They go backwards, left and right but don't actually progress forward? And a lot of the time when there is a rainmaker and it's free to grab, no one wants to grab it on your team? The damn thing fires an unstopable tornado of death far forward, you shoot, you swim forward, repeat till you get far enough - die and let everyone regroup.
*sigh*
Getting a bit tired of constant roller jumpers who pop up like a Jack and the Box and always one hit kill you because they are on higher ground. Even with a 52 gal and a splash wall they can still regularly beat you and the range of the gun can't get them either. Their ink showers down over the top of splash walls too. Especially if they are using Dynamo rollers - the range is as far as any gun too.
I can't see what you can do except for suction bombs and that means changing weapons.
Also - yes, I have come across even more constant jumpers and yes they are all Japanese assholes with blasters.

What don't you get?
It's not that I don't understand it, I just don't 'get' it, as in I don't enjoy it.
Also, Saturday I played 2 hours straight of Tower Control, and I must say I'm liking it less now I understand the scoring. When I played it before, there was this mystery about the scoring, resulting in tense moments when awaiting the final judgement where I knew we hadn't held on to the tower for most of the match, but played rather well regardless and I'd never know who'd end up winning.
Then I noticed it's only based on how far you got the tower into enemy territory, making the whole thing very transparent and predictable.
The scoring?
Uh I guess but it is unpredictable when a team makes a good comeback late in the game.
Why don't you enjoy Rainmaker? It took quite a few matches before it clicked with me.

This^ again.
I have been informed that it's because players get disconnected. It's happened to me about 13 times since last Thursday on turf wars, but no one can explain why it always happens to my team and not the opposition. It's seriously ruining turf wars for me. In a battle of 3 vs 4 if one person on our side gets killed it's 2 v 4 till you respawn and the match is a washout.
Managed to get some Splatoon in last night. I've started playing more Ranked Battles, which isn't an improvement in my opinion. While Turf War is all about fun, ranked battles introduce a pressure to do well and frustration when you're losing often. They're also more addicting when you're doing bad, where you'll want one more game just to end on a win. In the end my score kept the same, resulting in a feeling of having wasted all that time since I had nothing to show for it.
On a more positive note, I did manage to score 22 kills in my last game.

Can't take it eh?
I kid.
Ranked battles are harder and the rules and maps make things a lot different than turf wars where you can free roam and cause chaos. Moray towers splat zones.... geez. Ranked are for more serious players and involve a lot more strategy and forward planning, even recon.
Wow, not only did my team win 6 Rainmaker matches, I've been getting all time high scores on Turf wars, about 1436.
Even when my team lose and I don't get the 300 point bonus I was scoring over 1000
