That's how it is but you have another 2 for ranked battles, so 4 every hour. You need to be level 10 to play ranked.

So 2 maps until I'm level 10. Hrm

Was pitted against a lot of better players today, which certainly made things more interesting. Those fucking krakens.

Played for 40-50 minutes and made it to level 5. Everyone seems pretty noobish so far, as the worst I did was 2nd a couple of times to a level 20----who I beat as many times. But this 2 map shit is awful. Am I missing something, or are you literally stuck playing 2 maps until they rotate it? Hrm

Right? RIGHT?

This Nintendo bullshit, suffering their stupidity is the worst, because they do this shit while making really cool games. If they sucked like EA or something it would be so much easier ;_;

Ben uses Kraken, piece of shit.

Everytime I have him dead to rights, boom kraken, because he's got his build set up that he'll get his special without ever having to reload so by the time he makes it to midfield or a combat zone, kraken. What a butthole.

IGN - Footage from Splatoon's version 2.0 update

Damn, you can't play turf wars in squads only?

Or you can't play turf wars in a private match? Couldn't quite get that.

Wow, the Urchin underpass stage has been completely revamped.  It's hardly recognizable.  cool  It looks a lot more complex with more, larger area's for skirmishes to unfold and more cover to hide behind.

Bah, I liked Urchin Underpass as it was...  At least my usual spot to camp on and annoy the opposition came through rather unscathed.

Nintyfan had a good point though, you used the chokepoint or nothing and it was hard to try and retake the central area.

Ehh...  I don't know.  It didn't appear to me that each match would be determined early on by who managed to control the center area.

What chokepoint?  There are 3 routes into the central erea and 2 going out.

There are really 2 entry points as one of them is pretty useless and gives you no advantage. Basically once the middle area was flooded over by the enemy they could hold the ground level entry way and elevated ramp meant you couldn't even see over let alone make it past. The only way to go is the elevated walkway on the left, get to the end and shoot down but you can only have a limited effect unless you bomb it over to the opposite walkway in a who dares wins move which fails 7 out of 10 times. Then you have to hold them off and hope your team deals with the ground level center area.

Splatoon - web app launched in Japan

Along with the big update today, Japan Splatoon players got an extra treat as a web app has launched. Using your Nintendo ID, you'll be able to do the following:

- Use your friends list to send messages, see who is online

- View friends current levels, gear and how many points they've earned with each weapon they've used

- View your own profile

- Check the current and upcoming map rotations

It's only available in Japan right now, unfortunately. Here's hoping we see something similar for all regions!

I'm playing it now. The Splatling is genius, you can't pop out and ink because of the charge, nice balance.

Played some turf wars with the Splatling, there are some big drawbacks. After you've shot your load, the bad guys know you're vunerable. But if you use a splash wall half your ink is gone. The slow character movement means cramped levels with lots of obstacles are a bust. Anyhow I opened a squad for you guys to join and a random miiverse friend joined instead. May have to password protect the Splathour.

Played some Tower control and turf wars.  Boy, Splatling was made for Tower control.  They'll just wait for you and shoot their load at the tower before retreating.  If you've got 2 on the opposite side there's no way you're getting to their goal.  But yeah, for turf wars they're practically useless.  Urchin Underpass is beyond recognition.  There's so much room everywhere.  It's like all the bottlenecks have been pulled wide open with ramps and obstacles everywhere.  Perhaps it'll fall back in a groove after a while, but now it's just mayhem.

if you go into a squad of 3, which it has the option for a tri-squad, you run the risk of being in 3 v 4 matches, intentionally. Instead of just having a 3 v 3 mode, instead of letting you party up in regular battle, instead of just letting us have a 4th random, they do this bullshit.

No squad up for regular battle

No 3 v 3

Still a stupid ass rotation.

Fucking Nintendo.

Same with chargers and scopes I guess.

I haven't had time to recon urchin underpass yet. So far I prefer the old one.

I don't agree that they're similar to chargers and scopes.  with chargers and scopes, proximity to the foe or some form of aiming is required respectively.  With the splatling, you can keep at a nice distance, out of reach of many of the other weapons and just shoot your load without having to worry much about trivialities like aiming, since you can just carpet bomb the top of the tower.
