I didn't vote for Darks Souls 2 because I opted not to play it yet and wait for the Xbox One version otherwise it would have been on my list, I love those games.

Captain Toad took votes away from Mario Kart that's the only reason Smash is higher than kart.
Yay! Hyrule Warriors made the top 10. Had I voted later it probably would have been a top 5 game for me.
There's a lot of games on the RoF list that I just haven't played yet. My list would have been radically different if I did. It's a shame I can't play all releases before making my list.

HD version with some new stuff, of the Wii game Art of Balance, cool physics based puzzle game by Shinen. You balance different shaped blocks on top of eachother.
Although some of us were in a somewhat heated debate concerning the coveted 'Game of the Year' awards here at The VG Press, I would like to formally congratulate the fan(s) of Mario Kart 8. Your game put in a great showing and almost took it in the end. Considering how great Smash Bros. is, it is quite an honor and distinction for Kart to have come so close. So, in all seriousness, a heartfealt and serious, good-sportsmanship 'CONGRATULATIONS!' to you! No hard feelings, I assume?

It was super close. Two games were almost even, two of Nintendo's most honored franchises, even though one of them is kind of sucky and has almost no content.
