Another good fit might be the new SMB wii games. The ones that can be played cooperatively and if someone is having trouble they get to stay inside a bubble.

I'm such a poet.

Super Mario Galaxy.

That's...pretty much it. You can't miss.

How old were your kids before they could play this competently?

Kids don't need to play stuff competently. They play shit for fun.

Real shit.

But obviously a child of any age could play SMG competently.

Manhunt is a solid title to get the ol' noggin' spinnin' with ideas.

Why on earth would you want to compare anything to No More Heroes 2?  That game was an abomination of a sequel.  The original was so much better.

This post is an abomination.

But don't they cry when they die?

Rhythm Heaven on the other side, would seem a bit of a drag for small kids because the difficulty ramps up considerably after a few levels. By mid-game you have to be a fucking savant to get shit done.

I unlocked all the levels on my save file so they will never hit a brick wall, they can just mess about.

They'd cry if they kept being stuck in a bubble I think.

Seriously, is Lollipop Chainsaw any good?

Yes it was. It's a fun God of War clone.... with a cheerleader and zombies. It's short, but any longer and the game probably would have gotten boring.
