Implemented reCaptcha to mitigate spam.  The influx was not unexpected; previously JavaScript was required for registration, which bots virtually never are implemented with.  I'm still rather impressed with the technology to register, and find the forums to post in a proprietary system.  Hats off to the spammers on that one.

Can't you spam them back with some program, plaster them with Hard Gay pictures?

Added two new options.

Sticky Menu: Menu will remain at the top of the screen when scrolling down the page.
Menu Dropdowns: Dropdown menus will be shown on hover over applicable main menu items.  Currently only applies to the Forum tab.

You'll have to log out and back in, as well as hard refresh/clear your cache before the options will be visible.

Both options can be toggled in your account settings.

I like the implementation and effect of both ot those changes. The pull-down will save me a lot of time.

I figured I'd go through where the site is going in general terms.  My goal, beyond community, has been to create a site with features that you just don't get on any other gaming sites.  It started with GG Weekly being unique, and now moved into primarily how the forums are handled.

Custom skins, toggling of most different things, compact view, jumping to the last unread, highlighting the page with the last unread comment, etc.  Whatever makes for a better experience; if it doesn't exist, invent it.

By having custom boards, we can grow on our own and not at the whim of an someone else's project.  So let's make good use of it.

Added "Infamy" statistic beside your rank, which is your lifetime plus/minus on comments.

Love the infamy feature. That's brilliant.  The site has now become the forum equivelent of Fable... except that you never under-deliver on your promises.

When editing reviews if it's done using the alternative system apparently...well it can't be edited. There's no overall (alternative) text box, so there is indeed no text to edit. Anything that can be donea bout that? In the mean time I'll resort to re-posting. Sad

Stack. Trace.  Tell me what you're doing. How are you getting to the site, then how to the edit page, which review are you editing and so forth.  Same with GG; if you're having an issue with the pasting of links, how about, which link?  How many times until it happens?  Turns out it's that it stops after the first one, which I would have been able to address earlier with pertinent information.

Stack. Trace.  If you don't tell me what you're doing, then I have to cover all the possibilities, which means you wait longer for it to get fixed.  If I edit a review written in Simple mode, functions properly.

Firefox...the latest one. Bookmark to main page. Click on edit from there. tried about 3 or 4 times. Can't post the link as I've already done the re-post! Nyaa I'll see if it happens on the new one, and if it does, link you to that.

Okay, opened main page in new tab. (That could be my first mistake!) Clicked on edit. No alternative. Opened vgpress on same tab. Clicked edit, same thing happened. Tried on profile page---worked there!

Editing on profile link: http://thevgpress.com/#!/writeReview.php?id=258&type=simple

Main page: http://thevgpress.com/#!/writeReview.php?id=258&type=advanced

Wonderful, manually changing it from simple to advanced in the address works.
