Well have you played a real silent hill game?

I played 2 hours of Silent Hill 1 on ps1- otherwise known as the fog and Shattered Memories several times. I have no idea why you are interogating me about something which you already know, that I haven't played much if any Silent Hill as a non-PS owner.

The reasons, if you cared to know why I thought you wouldn't like Homecoming is that, firstly it wasn't reviewed particularly well, secondly it's a portable Game, thirdly it's made by the studio who made the "fake" Silent Hill game that you hate - fourthly because it's the contention by most SH fans including yourself that any non-team Silent SH game is no good and lastly because you've shat on the past two old games you've played - hence it was probable that you would not like a third. I don't know why you're getting antsy over it. Archie also wanted to see you shit on it, a glib, humourful, meaningless comment from us both. What's the problem here exactly?

No problem you are just commenting on something you don't know much about. Homecoming is NOT a portable game and it is not made by the team that did SM. it's a pretty traditional SH so I should like it. Also I really didn't know if you had played an old SH game, you should.

I will be merciful and vote for Viewtiful Joe 2. You probably won't like El Shaddai and Valkyria Chronicles will pretty much stretch the "Summer of Backlog" into the fall. Same with Yakuza, most likely. VJ2 is short. It's a Clover game and it will probably give you a good challenge. Prolly right up your alley.

Edit: Maybe I should have read the rest of the choices before answering... but it still doesn't change my vote. The No More Heroes games suck and Shadows of the Damned will probably depress you into suicidal thoughts when you see what it became and what it COULD have been. VJ2 it is!

IGN also gave The Thing an 8.3 rating...and Bully averaged about an 8.5 rating

Bully is fine, no issue there. The thing, well everyone was very forgiving for very glitchy messy games apparently.

Yakuza 2 can be beaten in under 30 hours even if you do all the side quests. (Not including mini-games.) The series started getting really long at 3.

What? 30 hours is super long already. What happens in 3?

Playing Yakuza 2 right after Sleeping Dogs is kind of going to suck for Yakuza 2 isn't it... I should probably sneak in a game in between.

30 hours is not super long for a JRPG (which is effectively what Yakuza is, structure-wise), and certainly not for Yakuza. There's just so many more side quests in 3, and a lot of them take longer than in 2 and involve more fights and time consuming things. The only ones in 2 that do that are the mini-game related ones, or the host/hostess side quests, which were removed from 3. You could probably beat Yakuza 2's story alone in 15-20 hours; the rest is up to how much else you want to invest in it.

Valkyria Chronicles, on the other hand, is the much more reasonable length (for JRPGs) of 30 hours for the story, 60+hours for completion.

I was confusing it with Origins. I have no interest in the old games and I don't even know how many released on Xbox.

I told you and anyone else who would listen before Shattered Memories released that I have never tried a game in the series, which is why I found it strange that you were asking. Especially as I have told everyone and anyone who cared to know that I never owned a P.S system. I don't count SH1 because wandering around in a pixellated fog for two hours doesn't really count.

It seems Homecoming is a non-Team Silent game and an old game so I still think you won't like it much compared to the proper games in the series.

Yes. It won't be fair to Yakuza 2 at all.  You'll need more than one game as padding.

I don't remember these things, I forget who it is who I am always shocked to hear he hasn't played RE4.

But wait you never owned a PS? NOT ONE?! Thats crazy! So what haven't you played? Did you ever play FFVII? MGS? GT? RE? You have never played a Ratchet game? A Crash game? SotC?

BTW I love old games, where are you getting this I dont like old games thing from. As long as the gameplay is good, I will play anything from any time. Also Homecoming is a current gen game, not old. Now it is known to be crappy and if it is crappy that is why I won't like it.

Not for me. I'm getting my PS2 games as PS3 HD compilations.

All the Sleeping Dogs talk in this topic made me pick it up again today. Maybe this time I'll actually play it before trading it in.

Wonder if there'll be Ultra-HD streaming of PS2 games on the PS4...?

**This is getting to be silly.**
