Story Mode:
  • More levels, 50+, double the first game
  • Exciting new powerups and gadgets add tons of variety
  • Hours of fun in new multiplayer challenges
Create Mode:
  • More tools than ever before to make the kind of game you want to make.
  • Easier to use tools, no more million switches to make a door that opens.
  • Have multi-switch, large complex mechanisms put on a small microchip. These microchips can be shared throughout the community.

Meh!

I have the Meh level sort of planned out in my head. This will serve as my test level to see what I can and cant do. It will be very basic but will try to incorporate many gameplay elements and some good level design I hope. I have the story all worked out as well, it stars a boy named Leo of course.

I am in love all over again. The menus have been vastly improved, its quite incredible to see what they have done. I can now play my own music in my pod, I had the Beatles playing while I was decorating my sackboy! The biggest sign that this is one of the best games ever, when you get the grappling hook the song "A fifth of Beethoven" that disco mix of his classic tune starts to play, that pulled me over the top. I bow to Media Molecule

Not feeling the story levels as much as I did in the first game. Right now the LBP2 community levels are complete rubbish, so sad they dumped all the beta levels. Playing online is still a pain, connection issues everywhere.

MEH.

I still love it though. Nyaa

So far LBP1 has the better story mode even though LBP2 has far more variety but I think that has taken away from the great level design the first game had.

Also LBP1 has the better soundtrack so far, it was so promising at the start of LBP2 but since the first level I haven't heard that many great tunes.

Everything else goes to LBP2.

I'm probably going to enjoy it UP TO the point where I try to make a level, get frustrated and quit all over again...

The Disco-Beethoven song was cool though...

Yes it was. Ok dont try to make a level, or help people make levels, I believe you can co-op create.

I am going to start off with a versus level (that is one of the trophies), i may make it tonight. I was thinking of making anRC PRO AM versus level, seems like it can be done. I will need testers so i may contact you if you are online.

That sucks, some of the latter levels on LBP were really fantastic.

The fourth world is incredible. I finally reached the part where you ride vehicles/animals and they shoot. So many types of games are now possible, I can make Sin and Punishment if I want to. Its incredible. Again the level design is most;y made to show you what you can do rather than test you, but those levels were a blast so I was fine with it.

I think I have covered all the different power ups and stuff, I hope the last few worlds is all about awesome levels using them to their potential.

The story levels get much better toward the end as its mostly great platforming. One level introduces this water mechanic where you spray water out of your hat and you are on trees in a forest, fires break out and you have to put them out while you are jumping around. Water plants to extend platforms  and to extinguish foes. Its a genius level, an entire game can be made about something like that but in this game its just for two levels.

The user levels are getting way better. I played an awesome Super Stardust clone. I played a tower defense level, fully funtional, with three different towers that could be upgraded, 4 different levels to choose from, it was amazing. One level where everything was in black and white, looked like Limbo only cooler effects. There is this preview level of an upcoming top down RPG that looks amazing, it has the kind of art work that would win indie game awards.

If you guys want to see the levels I hearted most of them or check your recent activity.

I may buy it some day down the road if the main focus in the community is on platforming, as that's mostly what I care about.

I finished the story and I feel like LBP1 had the better story levels, they felt like they slowly built up to harder and more complex levels. This game was more about showing you cool things in each level. Still some fantastic levels but no build up and nothing as challenging as the bunker. Overall it felt very easy and was over rather quickly. After that I played with F1 and we played some versus levels, a lot are a blast. Then we went for some items on the first two worlds, game is great in coop. The reason the online went so well is cause he always did the turn off controller trick during the load screens, it worked as long as he did that.  Playing with others is a blast.

I have no clue what I am giving it but I doubt its a 10, or a 9.9. The first was magical cause it was unlike anything I have played. To me its still the best idea to come from this generation and I spent hundreds of hours on it, its personal favorite even though i know it has tons of flaws. This one improves the possibilities but ignores the flaws, the second time around it hurts cause that magic is gone.  LBP2 is the better game but I don't love it as much as I loved the original.
