We have reached the sweet 16 in our epic Game of the Decade (2000-2009) tournament. We will cover one round each day as we make our way to the championship. Here is the updated braket.
All the #1 seeds have gone through (RE4, SMG, MGS3, Uncharted 2) so far, lets see if they make it all the way. In the sweet 16 we have 6 action/adventure games, 4 RPGs, 2 FPSs, 1 fighting game, 1 platformer, 1 puzzle, and 1 Diablo 2 which is what action RPG. In terms of companies we don't have one with more than 2 entries, 2 Nintendo games, 2 Bioware, 2 Capcom, 2 Konami. In terms of Japanese vs non-japanese games, its split 9-7 in favor of non-japanese only cause Metroid was done by Retro, but if you count Nintendo's involvement then the split is even. So its a nicely diverse group of 16.
