Saving General Yang LHKFilm review

From the director of Fearless
"Saving General Yang provides little to mull over, but its solid filmmaking and entertainment value make it a safe pick for fans of the genre, the actors or both. The Yang family should be proud, or at least generally appreciative."
G.I. Joe: Retaliation (2013) BH Movie Review
In many ways part two is a more grounded, realistic action flick, but it is also still pretty damn entertaining. Big, dumb, loud, and completely forgettable, “Retaliation” is good for a couple hours worth of distraction.
You’re going to have to get through some gaping plot holes, and the movie is cheesy and silly at every stage, but if you can look past obvious flaws—and the pace does a nice job of not letting you dawdle—the result is ridiculous and a decent amount of fun.
Review: G.I. JOE: RETALIATION Kicks Way More Ass Than It Needs To
Jon M. Chu delivers an extremely well-directed, cheerfully dumb and occasionally dazzling spectacle of explosions, muscles and one-liners. It's a hell of a lot of fun on any big-dumb blockbuster terms, but downright incredible when you consider that we're talking about a movie where the protagonist is named Roadblock (Block for short).
KICK-ASS Is the Hero In Name Only. International Trailer Throws The Spotlight On Hit Girl.
5 Ways That Battle Royale Totally Rips Off The Hunger Games

Spoof of course.
Screen Daily is exclusively reporting that Marvel's sequel to The Avengers will begin shooting in early 2014 at Pinewood-Shepperton studios in the UK. This will continue an on-going relationship between the superhero creators and the Twickenham-based studios, where Thor: The Dark World recently wrapped and Guardians of the Galaxy will shoot this summer. This comes as a surprise - albeit a welcome one for the British film industry - as word off the China-based set of Iron Man 3 has been extremely positive and the smart money would have been on Marvel strengthening that relationship, while looking perhaps even to lock down co-production status for the film. Perhaps the last-minute change to that film's status in China does indeed hint at a souring of that particular relationship and the subsequent move. The Avengers pulled in more than US$1.5 billion worldwide, easily making it the biggest film of last year, and third most successful of all time behind James Cameron's one-two punch of Avatar and Titanic. Writ
I understand that Battle Royale is the only Japanese film of that sort that anyone has seen, but it's a combination of various tropes and clichés. Maybe it popularised some of them? And maybe I've got my timing wrong and I'm underestimating its influence, but I've read a reasonable amount of manga as far back as the '70s with the same sort of shit in it. Hell, there's lots of WESTERN material very close to The Hunger Games...neither are exactly groundbreaking in their themes or content. (I'm saying this from the outside looking in as I have little interest in both works.)
I remember watching Battle Royale when I was like 7 and it freaked me out LOL. SPLAINS MY CONSTANT NEED FOR MURD..... I mean I turned out normal.

Media Asia Announces Donnie Yen's First Super Hero Projects
Following the unveiling of Super Hero Films at HK Filmart last month, the joint production venture between Media Asia and Donnie Yen, the company has now announced their first two projects.
The Master is a martial arts drama set in the US in the 1970s, centring on a Hong Kong immigrant turned kung-fu school master who is targeted for revenge by a gun shop owner. The film will star Donnie Yen in the title role and is to be directed by Soi Cheang, whose previous work includes Motorway and Accident.
The second project, Dragon City, is to be directed by Derek Kwok (Gallants) and is again set during the 70s. Yen takes the lead, this time as a cop who leads a special task force assigned with battling crime and police corruption inside the now-demolished Kowloon Walled City.
Both films are currently in pre-production and are slated to shoot this year.
It will be a miracle if good. Then we have the remake of Sympathy for Lady Vengeance to look forward to.

New Hayao Miyazaki Movie Out In July
Studio Ghibli have confirmed that the new Hayao Miyazaki movie 'Kaze Tachinu' will be released on the 20th July, 2013. The studio had hoped to release the film at the same time as Isao Takahata's upcoming 'Kaguya-hime no Monogatari', but Takahata's movie has now been delayed.
'Kaze Tachinu' is based on a 2009 manga by Miyazaki himself. The upcoming movie will work from that source material as well as Tatsuo Hori's like-named novel to explore the life of a historic World War II Zero fighter designer named Jirō Horikoshi.
