I wanna be where the creatures are
I wanna see, wanna see them roaming
Walking around on those - what do you call 'em?
Oh - feet!

Running down linear halls, you don't get too far
Open worlds are required for exploring,
Riding along - what's that named again?
A Chocobo

Down where they walk, down where they run
Down where they go any direction they want
Wanderin' free - wish I could be
Part of that world

I thought for sure you were going to do something like:

Under Cocoon
Under Cocoon
Lightning it's meaner
Down where it's greener
for Pulse L'Cie
Up in the Sky they purge all day
Down here on Pulse we hunt away
The Sanctum's disbandin'
is what we are plannin'
Under Cocoon

You are way better at this than I am.

And yes I had thought of Under Cocoon, the other song was way easier to adapt.

Through a mist, through the plains
Where within a new world where
Something's lurking that you don't see ev'ry day!
It's a beast! One as tall as a mountain
We won't rest 'til it's good and deceased
Sally forth! Tally ho!
Grab your sword! Grab your spells !
Praise the Fal'cie and here we go!
We don't like
What we can't defeat
In fact it scares us
And this monster is unbeatable at least
Bring your guns!
Bring your bracelets!
Save your phoenix downs and your TP
We'll gain massive CP and exp!
We'll kill the Beast!

FF meets Disney, but better than Kingdom Hearts.

Yeah Gran Pulse is awesome, it's practically a whole game on it's own. I've been putting in some serious time in this area now trying to finish up the missions, building up my characters, weapons, and accessories. I'm really starting to kick butt now and it feels great. Still have some very tough enemies to fight though.

I have done as many missions as I can at the moment on the plains of Pulse. I am sure I hit the same wall everyone else did, Cactuar. So I decided to progress the story by entering the mines. It's nice to have straight goal again to be honest. I am a bit overpowered as I am destroying everything in my path. But just when I was getting cocky an eideloin fight beats me down. I am now in this awesome tower, this is how you do an RPG dungeon.

I will say it again, this game is so beautiful. The locations you visit and things vistas you see, my god. It is one of the most beautiful game worlds I have ever seen.

Now that I have had control of my team for about 20 hours and I understand the weapon upgrading system and all that it feels more like FF. You need to grind to fight the tougher enemies but it isnt really required to get through the game. Back when it was totally linear the game always had control of how powerful your characters were. On one hand that is good cause the difficulty is perfectly balanced for everyone. On the other hand it removes the aspect of RPGs where you make your team stronger, where you can decided who and what to fight. In Pulse that comes back, when I arrived I fought a Behemoth and it would destory my team. 10 hours later I was beating those things down like nothing. I love finding a hidden path and being ambushed by some giant monster you know you can't beat at the moment. When I come back to kill it the satisfication will be great. If only this game had a proper mix of letting the player explore and having the game guide you like FF's of old, this game could have been one of the top FF games. Its still excellent and big time fans of FFX will be in heaven.

I wish there were more screenshots of the different sections of Pulse. You guys without the game need to see how beautiful these locations are. Sure its mostly a background painting but man its a beautiful background painting.

Just finished the game, I have such mixed emotions about this game, its crazy. This is what I felt during the final moments of the game: when leading up to the final boss I was excited, I was pumped for the fight. The fight went on, in traditional FF fashion the final boss has multiple forms (hopefully this is not a spoiler for anyone, I will say how many forms it has stop reading if you don't want to know). So I was impressed with the design of the second form but was monologuing, really cliche crap, whatever. So excellent battle folllowed by weirdness. I had no clue what was going on, the story was losing me, then it kind of rebounded a bit but that exciment I had earlier was more like "huh?" now. Oh good a final form, wait that is it? Final cutscene was crazy stuff happening, lots of things going on, not sure what it all means. Finally a big emotional moment to end it and I felt it, awwww. So at the very end was pleased even though I was lost and confused for a lot of the ending and that kind of sums up how I feel about the game. I love it in many ways but I am lost and confused as to why at times.
