Wow. That’s some pretty unexpected and unfortunate news that Tomonubu Itagaki passed away.
R.I.P.
If you're over 40 at this point I think a yearly flu vaccine is a must. I had no idea it would be this bad.
Where's Dr Steel when you need him?
Looks nice, but Nintendo is killing all the videos.
Sounds like he’s been battling some kind of illness and he knew he probably wasn’t going to make it. Gave a message to a friend of his to post on his social media in the event of his passing.
Wonder why Nintendo hasn't released a new GameCube game. Luigi's Mansion would be perfect right now.
Have you guys caught any of the low key hype over Absolum?
Its a rogue lite beat em up by Dotemu and its got great reviews.
I can't see myself buying it for a while but its definitely one I'll pick up eventually.
I'm feeling much better today. Not 100% though.
Yeah, have heard and seen stuff about it. Don’t really plan on getting it myself. Got too many games on my “to get” list right now.
Can't say I'm surprised. Pokémon games are definitely made on the cheap, but there's no way it could have been that cheap. I doubt that could have covered the budget for any Pokemon game since the DS era.
Switch 2 can run Switch games at higher framerates and sometimes higher resolutions - docked.
It can run Switch games at higher framerates but with worse image quality because its a 1080p screen in handheld. I thought Nintendo would let SW1 games run in their docked configurations when playing handheld, but nothing so far.
Switch 2 has no dpad handheld.
So I was thinking of keeping the OLED for 2D Switch games. But when I did the system transfer all my game key cards got switched to Switch 2.
And Im not really in the mood to switch game cards back and forth.
I thought there was a way to have all your games on two switches and have it check online to see if you're allowed to play a game?
I guess I would hold on to it for a bit, if I were you. However, the chance to sell for a decent price decreases every day. I think our Gamestop here in the states already offers a pitiful amount of cash for it.
Such a true statement. Its damn annoying.
That's the other thing. Its a really great piece of technology compared to switch 1s original model. So I feel like the price you would get for it wouldn't be worth it.
But I find I just dont use my old consoles at all.
But the OLED still has that resolution and OLED benefit for 2d games over Switch 2. For Switch 1 games.
Atari announced the Intellivision Sprint - A new mini console with 45 games, wireless controllers and overlays for each game. If the quality is as good as the 7800+, then I will be buying it. I always wanted an Intellivision, but I've never even seen one IRL, lol.

I'm probably going to put it on a watch list and see if it drops just a little bit in price. $150 isn't bad, but it's a little more than I want to spend on a retro only system. But then again, those controllers look fantastic.
This weekend I hooked up my Sega Genesis 2 Mini and played some Rolling Thunder 2, Splatterhouse 2, Sonic CD, Super Street Fighter 2 and Sewer Shark.
Sewer Shark is a bad game, but like terrible old B-movies, it has it's charms; enough charm for me to beat three times back in the day. Man, does the Sega CD FMV look terrible on a 4K TV; barely playable even with the CRT filter.
I should give Night Trap a go later, lol.
This weekend I mostly played more Alan Wake 2. Played a little bit of Dragon Ball FighterZ. It’s crazy that they’re adding another character to the game. The roster is pretty huge for it.
