Hey Geek, Just so you know I'm not doing any Nintendo stories, that's your beat. If you stop reporting on them let me know as I just glance at the sources now and figure you'll cover it so I leave it alone.
EDIT: Unless it is a quirky one like the one I just posted.
Post whatever you like, I've only recently been following the news because of launch but might drop back.

IGN has been desending into mass media coverage for over 2 decades now. I don't think I've been there in the last 20 years. What worries me most is that they bought over Eurogamer. So far it hasn't impacted their spirit and work ethos it seems, but I can't imagine this to stay true in the long run.
A lot of people are complaining about IGN taking over Digital Foundry. I do wince at some of the IGN interviews where they drag Rich on. The interviewer doesn't seem to have any kind of grasp of even basic things.

Certainly not sarcasm. It's nitpicking, but my comment stands. I can't believe nobody raised this issue up during development. I recall the lights working properly in MK8, although I haven't checked...
As for Free Roam: I haven't played much of it. I need defined challenges in my games. Just giving me tools to enjoy myself without a clear goal never works for me.
edit: I'd love for a kind of Mario Maker Knockout mode level editer though. I guess an AI driven knockout track creator would work well too, but Nintendo would never do that.
Each P switch gives you a defined challenge.
In a broader sense playing free roam also unlocks mirror mode and new character outfits.
I see GG touched on this but apparently I'm supposed to hate the switch 2 screen now? All these reports of horrific frame refresh, terrible ghosting, completely garbage even compared to switch 1! I didn't notice anything but ok. Sure I would love high quality stuff, seems Nintendo saved some money... still looks fine to me. And I play mostly docked anyway.

So I haven't been able to stop thinking about this video where this guy got a magsafe battery and stuck it on the back of his switch 2.
I get around 2.5 hours out of playing Cyberpunk.
I didn't buy that chunky thing up top. I went for the lowest capacity 5000mah one as I wanted it as light as possible and slim.
It's charging now, it's about the size of a credit card and comes with a magnetic ring sticker to attach it to switch 2 or whatever you want really.
The Switch 2 battery is a similar size so I should get 4 hours bare minimum playing an intensive game like Cyberpunk.
So the overall life would go from 2-6 hours to 4-12 hours?
I haven't personally experienced any game so far that gives the 6 hour battery life Nintendo had listed. Maybe for 2D switch 1 games?
The battery is only around 100g
Here's mine:
Who's getting this.....
I probably will for that price. I've been itching to try out the mouse controls.
Welcome tour would be a better way to try it surely?
You sure about that?
I’ll pass.
Unless there's a normal control option.
ARMS for instance I would not enjoy if it only had motion controls, but with normal controls it's a great time.
With the characters and design of the Arms team it would be a lot more appealing.
There's also an indie game called Mouse Work coming out.

We are a few hours away from another Kojima masterpiece, who's ready!!!
I enjoyed the first game but not sure I want more. At least right now.
So what do you guys think of MKW as a launch game? How does if rank compared to previous Nintendo launch titles? Which one was the best? (BotW)
For me, Super Mario World is still the best launch game.
Really looking forward to picking this up but I’ll have to get it sometime next week.
Oh man, tough call. Would probably go with Super Mario World as well.
My eldest really wants it so yeah, for €20 we'll definitely end up owning it.
