I'm not sure if any of you guys are aware of the adult Happy Meals that McDonald's is doing for the Minecraft Movie, but whoever put the plan into motion should probably get their quarterly bonus. I've had to pop into McDonald's twice over the past couple days, and it's been insane seeing how many people are picking these things up.
Granted, the location I visited was directly across the street from a major university, so you couldn't do better than that place in hitting the target market - AKA young adults who grew up playing Minecraft as kids. But both times I've dropped in they were packed and people were leaving with one or two of these Happy meals.
And they're actually kind of expensive. My son got one and it was $16 for one with a large drink and large fries. From what I can tell, that's a $5 surcharge for getting the box and toy. Anyway, good on them. Even in these turbulent times, McDonald's is apparently still a safe investment.
A 90 day pause on the tariffs seems like it puts Nintendo in a rough spot. Things can still go either way after 90 days but Nintendo needs to figure out the price real soon since they are sticking to the June 5th launch. They should probably keep the initial price the same and hope for the best.
Agreed
Agreed. They are in a tough spot. I am optimistic that in the end the US will get to import cars into Japan and the tarrifs with JP will go away. Just like with Australia, if they start to buy US beef and pork theor tarrifs will go away also.
What I don't get is how relatively cheap the Switch 2 is in Australia ($430 USD) it gives credence to the analysis that the thing costs Nintendo $400 to make.

The only people buying American cars in Japan already have them. And, similarly, no one is going to buy American pork or beef in Australia.
Nintendo are using the present economic comedy as a smokescreen for price gouging, there's really nothing else to it.
I'm likely to keep my Switch 1 forever. Switch 2 is using emulation for Switch 1 backwards compatiblity. In the video below, MVG's (he worked with Nightdive Studios for a number of years) take away is that Switch 2 will not be fully backwards compatible, especially for third party games similar to how Xbox 360 couldn't run every OG Xbox game.
If you're not going to keep your OLED just sell them along with it. Either that or follow Martha Stewart's guide for turning them into cufflinks.
These cards weren't cheap. I feel like I'd have to raise the sales price then.

Apparently some sources are saying it runs at 120 fps.
We know it has a 2k mode, is 120fps for 1080p?
More exciting is that it may have a Diddy Kong racing style adventure tire mode. Nintendo are hinting that there's more to free roaming than we think. There may be missions, boss fights and collectibles.
Now final thought, this is an open world with individual tracks formed into one mass. So what happens when they add tracks as dlc?
Does the world become larger and larger with each track? Do they add regions instead that have several tracks within them and the free roam area becomes bigger?
What if they merge Mario platformer elements and make it more like Lego City?
I've always been curious and now they are becoming more accessible to Nintendo platformers I might pick one up when cheap.
It's always looked like Shenmue with beat em up sections? Is that right?
I haven't played Shenmu, so I can't give you a accurate comparison, but you're probably right. It's similar to a lot of GTA/open world games, though it's been scaled down in size compared to most others, there's no driving, and there's a decent fighting system in it. Nothing real over the top, but more complex than the simple punch mechanics that other games like it have.
There's usually a main storyline that's presented in a serious fashion, (which tend to focus on real estate scandals), and those a paired with side missions that are usually there to give your character a bump in experience points or money. As the series went on, those side missions became increasingly bizarre and ridiculous, and in turn became sort of a hallmark of the series.
I enjoyed the series a lot, but I played through about five of them through 2023. Kind of and invertently burn myself out on the series. But I'll get back to it one of these days.
Is there a beer option?
Only with the Royale with Cheese Happy Meal in Paris.
I had no desire to visit a McDonald's in Paris though they seemed to be everywhere.

Looks like this team was just experimenting in house, the way Modders have with Switch 1. Over clocking it and adding memory etc.
Someone actually got Arkham Knight running fine on an OG switch modded.
The Switch 2 only uses Express cards.
My phone doesn't let me have expandable storage.
I hardly use the tablet.

If you get switch 2, I'm guessing I'll have to transition my account over from switch 1.
Would I still be able to access my collection on switch 1 after the transfer?

Ivwould assume the world becomes larger. Exciting news about the game.
In a video, on the ocean someone drove into a ? Block inside a ship. You then started driving the ship.
Apparently you can also drive inside a lorry and start controlling it.
One more thing, I don't if you can do this, but because your cart can transform into a plane or jetski, could you freely change in free roaming mode?
Turn into a plane, fly over the world freely, land and transform back into a kart?
Even if you can't I imagine there will be a plane you can fly into and control. Then maybe you eject and parachute back down to land.
Didn't we see someone drive into an eighteen wheeler and control it?

I'd likely play a Yakuza game like I did Shenmue: Play until I found the local arcade and never leave.
How many games are in the series?
GG, I read that transferring to switch2 leaves the games on Switch as well, save for your AC island.
In regards to World's likeliness to DKRacing, there better be a Wizpig easter egg in there somewhere!
