I hope the demo includes that rather than the short, linear opening 30 mins of the game.
I think seeing is believing and it recalibrates your expectations of Switch 2 visuals and performance.
I'm slowly getting more into the game and its become a lot more fun.
My biggest problem so far is the objective path finding, its very manual. There's ko tracking line or radar.
SW Outlaws with and without Ray Tracing enabled (PC). DF mentioned this in their DF Weekly show. Kind of a trip.

Of course the difference is huge. Games withourt RT will have different solutions to mimick lighting. If you turn RT off Outlaws has none of that.
It seems to forget switch 2 whenever I take the dock to a different tv. Forgets all the settings.
So I have been using game mode for weeks now. I assumed it would be better for gaming. But you can layer non game mode stuff on top. But of course my TV forgets these everytime.
So I randomly turned off game mode and cranked up the sharpening. And holy shit, what a difference.
SW Outlaws now looks pin sharp and all the OLED settings applied looks just awesome.
I was wondering why Cyberpunk looked "off" to me compared to a few weeks ago. Screw game mode to hell and back.
15.09.25 - Sony is recording a historic decline in physical game sales at its PlayStation division: According to the latest corporate report, the company generated only 3 percent of its PlayStation sales with disc versions for PS4 and PS5 in the past fiscal year.
This corresponds to around USD 945 million with total sales of USD 31.5 billion. Even before the launch of the PS5, the share of physical software was twice as high. Since then, it has fallen steadily, from 6 percent in 2020 to 5 percent and 4 percent to the current low.
Despite the shrinking share, absolute sales remain more stable as the division's total revenues continue to grow significantly: The gaming division grew by almost 10 percent year-on-year and is considered a central pillar for the group as a whole. One possible reason for the decline in disc share was the lower number of Sony's own games, which are traditionally bought more often in physical form.
Wonder what the statistics are for Microsoft and Nintendo?
Man, that's way lower than I'd have assumed. I guess that also includes stuff like DLC and microtransactions which would skew the metric a bit.
And offer a made on demand service to print discs and box art like Disney used to. I got a couple of rare dvd sets that way.
Remember, MS tried that. Now I think they're trying it but just quietly.
They were just too early with it.
All of my Switch 2 games are digital.
And the cartridges cost a lot more than printing discs.
And the storage for portables is more expensive too.
It felt weird at first having to plug in SW Outlaws cart to play a game already on the SSD.
But in practical terms its just like playing a physically based game, just in terms of process and feel. Obviously I'd rather not eat up what little space I have left. But the benefit is I can always sell it or use it on someone else's system.
Going to Mos Eisley from the OG movies was something grin inducing. As well as sneaking into Jabba the huts palace.
There's been some decent stuff. I liked running around the abandoned Starship and platforming around to activate the tower.
I like the feeling of flying around on your speeder bike. I know from videos the game has been updated a lot to make it better than it originally was. Even the Switch 2 review metrics are higher.
I don't get randomly spotted. Being spotted doesn't end the mission. I can climb things without dropping weapons etc.
Although none of the gameplay elements excel, its all very solid and melts together to make something enjoyable.
The story bits are fun too, I can see why Vader said a more linear story based game would be good. I do like exploring though.
I think more open, sandbox stealth would be better. And perhaps some BOTW climbing and gliding mechanics.
Chart that breaks up revenue of Sony's gaming devision. My hunch about DLC was correct. It's the biggest driver of revenue, bigger than actual total revenue due to game sales.
But I guess when you're really into a game you buy a lot of dlc.

There's a rumor the Death Stranding will be coming to the Switch 2.
