Taito took that main concept and then built on it in some unexpected ways, and then would end up merging a few of those ideas together for even more games. I was never a giant Bubble Bobble fan, but one of the later games, Parasol Stars, was one of my favorites on the TurboGrafx 16.

I think I have that game on my TG-16 Mini. I'll have to check it out soon.

That's kind of a surprise that they've never done one. I know it was kind of a niche series, but it definitely had its fans. I can't imagine putting one together would be expensive to do.


That said, apparently there is a collection called Taito Milestones 3. It has Bubble Bobble and Rainbow Islands on it. Plus it has Cadash and Rastan on it, along with a few others. That's not a half bad list of games.

Took a look at the digital store front on the PS5 and they have a few of the Bubble Bobble games including the original arcade game. Put them on my wish list and if they go on sale might pick them up. Will definitely grab the original arcade game.
