I've been playing Advance Wars 2 on Switch. There are some difficulty spikes where you've got these 'boss missions' where you need to take out a big factory. The rest of the missions are pretty easy, where you're clearly being set up for succes. The models for the different commanders are generally great too, where I'm trying to make out if it's animated 2D art, or high quality 3D models. Some seem to be the former, while some show tells of the latter in how they're animated. As for the limited voice acting, it's like they have 3 actors tops do all the voices, which does come off as pretty cheap. I'm playing the localized version, since you still can't set langauge settings per account, only per system, so perhaps the situation is different in the English dub.
Being a border city we’ve had one “bang, bang” night on the 1st and get another tonight.
We've been hearing neighborhood fireworks every evening for the last two weeks. Tonight will be the worst of it by far. And it'll likely continue all weekend too to a lesser degree.
I only like professional fireworks but haven't seen any since I got my dog in 2017.
I broke out the mouse wrist strap thing that came with the console to try mouse mode again.
Didn't realise using it while playing with split joycon makes the controllers more comfortable so you don't get the sharp edge of the magnetic rail rubbing on your hand.
If you get caught on a lamp-post using Jablonsky's ass crap pickup truck for a second he declares the mission over. Even if the car you're chasing is 50m away.
He then drives off bitching at you.
And you can't even blow him up , I blew the doors off his car but he was un killable.
I loaded a quick save and finally managed to get to the car and a firefight ensued.
At which point you're faced with a practically un killable swat team cop who soaks in multiple shots gun and precision rifles I have with virtually maxed out damage stats.
Jablonsky says to leave the target to him, but he doesn't seem to do anything. Is this a COD style mission which won't progress until I kill the target? As this cop won't die and his buddy shoots me in the back.
Edit - did it. And my client died at the same time I killed the target. Win win.
It's looks incredible, even better than the main game. There are like 5x as many NPCs in busy areas, the lighting is better quality with multiple sources.
The image detail is on another level even over the base game.
Really impressive as it was built with more powerful systems in mind.
Does make me wonder why they couldn't jam in more NPC density into the main game.
Thread after thread of people disgruntled with them. And also articles such as "Microsoft was never good at managing studios, which is a problem now they own everything"
There's former devs and execs worming their way out of the shadows to stick the knife in. Okay bad framing but none of them seem happy.
This former Arkane studios guy on twitter now thinks Gamepass is/was never sustainable and only functioned because MS had infinite money.
Now he thinks it's a plan to wreck everyone, and claim even more control of the market.
Like when Chinese steel companies undercut steel markets in other countries, closing down plants, then claiming a huge share of the market now rivals are dead.
I've read some of the reviews but still was not sure of what to expect.. i've played Brothers but never started A Way Out or It Takes Two. I'm definitely going to play them after this.
Hey guys found a cool mouse mode experience on switch 2 if you were curious.
On the eshop a mouse cursor appeared because for a second I covered the mouse sensor with my fingertip.
Then I just faced it down the way Metroid Prime 4 engaged mouse mode and it worked.
Since the eshop doesn't have gyro controls, mouse mode made it easier to use it like an actual website and you still have sticks and buttons to use too. So the stick becomes a scroll wheel and you can use the ZR as your mouse click button.
Also I can confirm that with a joycon grip, not a mouse grip, it bulks up the joycon enough to feasibly use comfortably as an actual mouse.
I hope all FPS and point and click adventure games have this as a bare minimum.
There are lots of point and click adventure games that don't have gyro and some Fps that don't have gyro on switch.
Since most of these games have PC versions they should already have mouse controls that should be easy to transfer over to switch 2.

Poor pets.

Be safe out there. We had a fifteen year in our town that blew his hand off with a firework earlier this week.
"Switch 2 dock DOES support VRR for TV play"
It's been a month since release and people still don't fully know what features the hardware has yet? Only Nintendo.
I've had mycar for nearly 4 years and I'm still not sure how the fog lights work.
Very curious what secrets might lie in the Switch 2 dock. Reminds me of the port at the bottom of the original NES.
You never had to blow on the cartridges. The console does it itself.

You're gonna make me buy the game again.
It's worth it for the fashion show. I just go about checking the fabulous horror show.
Now when I see someone IRL wearing a cowboy hat, leather waistcoat, fluffy scarf and hotpants, I immediately think of Cyberpunk.
Been casually checking the forums today.
The hate for Microsoft seems to be a thing.

Split Fiction is wild, often hilarious, chaotic, and fantastic. I don't want to spoil so I will say you've got to play it. Great multiplayer fun.
Watched some people playing it on a stream and does look like a great game and a lot of fun indeed.
