So get with the times and just buy some big publishers. Sheesh, you'd think that a company with such a marketing budget that dwarfs that of Xbox would have thought of that before. I mean, what could go wrong? Other than overstretching resulting in the need to take your biggest games multiplat to ensure you can earn some of al that spent money back.
They certainly do not have enough original content. I struggle to find a reason to want a PS5 and think its best to skip PlayStation this gen. Maybe Naughty Dog can wow me with something, who knows.
Gamers will not settle for less graphical fidelity, so it'll be up to middleware providers to create AI tools that do much of the heavy lifting.
That's what I'll likely be doing when the PS5 Pro is announced. I don't need it but those graphics are sure pretty.
I agree with what you wrote but I think I'm having much more fun with the game. I get so involved in the underworld drama of it all, plus Sabaac is one hell of a card game.
Don't really want to drain my phone battery though.
I'd forgotten how tough some old games were, in really cheap ways.
Enemies appearing off screen, shooting you from offscreen.
Bosses that defy the laws of physics, phasing through walls. Bosses that lunge towards you, crossing the whole screen in half a second.
What I'm noticing is that modern pixel art games are better, particularly because they control better and don't randomly screw you over.
BTW, Treasure were so far ahead of other Genesis developers, so evident when you play this collection.

I remember seeing an Ori dev video showing all the 3D planes, really impressive.
I got to this blue Samurai boss in Revenge of Shinobi.
Are the devs fxxxing real with this boss? He's completely invincible to shurikens, he has a huge sword which out ranges your puny short sword.
You have to make a pixel perfect jump to land behind him and if you fail to attack at the correct microsecond, he turns and slices you to bits in an instant. Even with rewind this is impossible.
Cheap AF, they basically ignore any hit detection to screw you over.
Also the AI is so annoying, this used to be one of my favourite games, but playing it now is a bittersweet experience.
The AI always, always tries to circle behind you, so you do this awkward circle dance, trying to line enemies up on one side. Which hardly ever works.
Otherwise the AI just charges at you constantly when they are a set distance away.
You can't even finish off the enemy you're currently wailing on before someone else charges you.
This is why I hold Final Fight in such high regard. It's almost always fair.

I'm on the final boss in Golden Axe, it's rough in solo play. Being assaulted by 2 skeletons while trying to beat Death adder. He busts out random special moves that destroy your life bar.
And he has this unavoidable attack where lighting homes in on you on the ground.
I think my great memories of this game and most arcade games come from playing them with friends next to you as a kid.
