Go team GEAR! WhooOOOO!
But which Gear? Gears of War or Metal Gear?
When the game first came out I would try to draw maps like this for future Mario games. I think this is my favorite game map.
This game is like a generational leap over X2.
If there's one game you have to get on Switch before it dies, it's this.
Crazy improvements here.
I'm curious to see how Nintendo improves the next Zelda since it'll b developed solely on the Switch hardware.
Zelda 1 included my all time favorite map. When I was 16, my bestfriend bought Zelda 1 with some Toys R Us Geoffrey dollars (which were cool on their own) he got for his birthday. We sat on a bench outside and he opened the box and pulled out the manual, the stunning gold cartridge, and a fold-out overworld map. I've never seen anything like that in a videogame before. Looking at the map really invigorated my imagination. Super Mario World's is my second favorite map.
The resolution is hugely improved here, they use a temporal resolution, everything is much sharper.
It can result in the close ups on characters faces, having this ringing effect I don't like. But the environment looks much sharper.
I really appreciate the Mclassic which smooths out the edges a touch.
The textures and shades are massively improved over X2.
It feels like they've put in, over and above effort when making this. The scale is similar to past games, so the graphical improvements at this scale, look awesome.
Characters and enemies have better shades and textural detail that was missing in X2.
The cutscenes and transitions are more epic and have much more stuff happening.
But it's all the other stuff that impresses me. So many micro improvements on various aspects from past games.
Now all tutorials can be viewed whenever you want. If lost there's a dead space like glowing line you can toggle.
There's a shift button so you can easily access other game features.
The collectible items in the game are now colour coded based on rarity and value. The enemies also have icons depicting their difficulty ans rarity.
You can now fight whilst swimming! No more fleeing till the enemy stops targeting you.
There's an auto targeting now and it's so much easier to swap targets.
Theres a collectibles page where you can stamp them for certain people. Without having to return to town and hand them over in person.
There's a virtual combat option to practice moves in real time.
Only thing bothering me is this character called Eunie. We keep fighting low level enemies and she keeps saying "Hear that? Lanz wants something a bit meatier"
Ive heard it SO many times in the couple of hours I've played, it sounds like she's making gay jokes.
Bitch
You’re getting me really hyped to get back to playing Xenoblade Chronicles 3 here GG.
So I was in this valley heading to the target. A realtime(?) cutscene kicks in.
It's on a whole other level to their previous work, the character models, the hair of this girl moving independently.
Then this giant demon comes out and he's detailed all over his suit that's not far off all the parts of a Transformer from the movies.
Then it does this seamless transition to gameplay like a magic trick.
Amazing stuff, for Switch.
It was originally an episodic game but all episodes have been collected and enhanced for this edition.

And it was well received. It's like Splinter Cell with an OG Resident evil camera angles.
Anyway, it launched for like £16 months ago, but browsing my wishlist I saw the price is now £0.82, not even a sale price, just its fixed price. So I grabbed it. Might be worth picking up.
Also there's a switch super sale on now, tons of games reduced.
I'm in this Grand Canyon like environment at the moment in Xenoblade 3 and I don't think I've ever seen a switch game look as crisp on a 4ktv.
I'm using Mclassic too though, for extra edge smoothing.
I neglected the first rule of Splatfest: always side with the obvious lesser popular option. That way you avoid the noobs. Seriously, every victory I managed, I singlehandedly wretched from imminent doom while the rest of my 'team' would keep painting our base or would camp on one spot for the full 3 minutes while killing absolutely noone.
Florida people, stay safe this week.
