Wait.... you run up the sides of buildings in Watch dogs?
No.
It's got some of those similar mechanics that most Ubisoft games have had for the past little while such as in this game you hack towers to reveal the surrounding area and some other such things.
"Playtonic's excuse stands on shaky ground, even if I 100% support their decision to ditch the WiI U version. The Wii U version was billed as the lead format alongside PC, with Playtonic handling that version while giving the more straightforward XBO and PS4 versions to publisher Team17. So to encounter technical issues that make it impossible to release the game on the only format Playtonic is targeting internally suggests a Wii U version was never really the focus, and the game was always targeting formats that were powerful enough to run a Unity Engine game as visually ambitious as Yooka Laylee. We've never seen Wii U footage to date, for instance, it's always been gameplay of the other versions"
It would be pretty stupid for them to bother with the Wii U at this point, it's not surprising at all. The system is dead, Nintendo have a new machine releasing a month or less before the game. Putting it on that instead makes a lot of sense. The email I got says the game is releasing on April 11th. Cool shit I needs some 3D platforming.

Pikmin 2 expands a lot on the original, more underground exploration, and adds two more Pikmin species. It's well worth playing.
The support for the Wii U has been dropped faster than any system I can recall. It is no surprise that no more big games were announced for it, since Nintendo was the only company making them, but the way all of the Indie developers and Kickstarter projects have all abandoned ship has gotten me off-guard a little bit. I would have at least thought there would be a little bit more support through the holidays.
It's not about Wii U dying or a new system coming. It's the BS reasoning behind it (Wii U was the lead platform - the other platforms had Team 17 porting it over). If they had months of technical problems - which halted development on their lead platform - then how did they pass work onto team 17 to port over?
The whole aspect of kickstarters and putting down money on something, waiting ages, then having the version you paid for cancelled. It's happened too often and its crummy behaviour and what keeps me far away from making an investment in anything.
Yeah the Wii U support sure has been dropped overall. Sucks for those who wanted to get that version of Yooka-Laylee, especially if they contributed money to support it. As an aside I find it interesting to see how the average consumer goes through some of the difficulties that publishers in the industry have gone through and continue to go through.
This weekend, I ruled the Wastelands as Mad Max.
What about you chumbuckets?
Been playing mostly Final Fantasy XV with a few brief rounds of Titanfall 2 and Halo 5 online mp.
Watch dogs is going cheap on the eshop this Christmas. Worth it?
Also, what's Pikmin 2 like compared to 1 and 3? That's out on U now.
I was thinking of buying something to play on Christmas day, like Starfox. Not sure its worth it though.
I enjoyed Watch Dogs so I'd recommend it to anyone who enjoys GTA style games with Assassin's Creed flavoured gameplay.

Yooka-Laylee cancelled for Wii U due to 'unforeseen technical issues', looking to release on Switch
GAF called it right:

More BS from kickstarters.

Best game in the series IMO.

GG you getting up at 4 or 5am to watch the switch presentation?

That Switch presentation is at 11 PM for EDT so I would probably be asleep if I don't try to stay up.
SUPER MARIO MAKER LEVELS:
Thanks a lot GG. Now you're making me want to get Color Splash.
It might be a good time to start picking up any Wii U games that I still want get as the shelves may start looking a little barren soon.
