Police in Darwin, Australia, have even asked players not to waltz into their station, which of course is a Pokestop in the game.
"You don't actually have to step inside in order to gain the pokeballs," the Northern Territory Police Fire and Emergency Services says on its Facebook page.
Ankle injuries, mishaps with revolving doors and walking into trees have been among the painful results.

Do any of you guys use those spiral light bulbs?
I just had one start burning and basically catch fire...now my house smells like burning plastic. Looked it up, and this is not an uncommon problem with these bulbs. I'm not using them anymore and you guys should be careful if you do.
Now there is an Austrailian estate agent who was fired from his job in Singapore because he ranted on Facebook on how backward the country must be for not having Pokemon Go availible in their country yet.
Moved to the Pokemon thread
Wow, so yesterday Nintendo had a $7 billion share value increase, today it's reached $10 billion.
They were in vogue here a while after the EU banned classic lightbulbs. I've never been a fan of them, as the luminiscent 'dust' is toxic, and lets be honnest, who takes the effort to properly recycle them? I'm all for halogens these days, although in a few years I suppose even those will be replaced by LEDs, despite their inferior colour gammut and warmth.
Grumpy old bastard.
Everyone here with an Android or iOS phone should download it, get out the house then come back and report all your stories about the rapists/muggers you've dodged and people you've met.
Okay I just saw the BBC News report on Pokemon Go. That's crazy.
Usually only a new GTA every few years or Wii 2006 launch craze got coverage.
Elvis Duran the biggest over the air morning show in the country was taking calls of Pokemon go stories. This is insanity! I saw people setting lures at the park at 1am, the stops were lit up with activity. Now Japan stocks went up another 13% Nintendo is worth $13 more billion since last week!!!
LOL
Sounds kinda fun, more for the social aspect than the game itself.
I hear Nintendo has a 33% stake in each of the following: Niantic, Pokemon Company and Creatures Inc as well as earning money from the game themselves directly. Pretty insane. If they had a few more mobile hits, a handful of games could literally earn more money than anything else in the industry. Not sure that's a good thing though.
Next week, San Francisco is going to have a Pokemon Go Crawl, which is a 3 mile trek from the coast to one of parks further in town. It has over 4000 people confirmed going, with over 19000 signed up.

Pokemon Go is impacting EA games productivity As Peter Moore says EA games may slip this year
"It's like The Walking Dead with smartphones here today at EA..."
This Pokemon Go craze is awesome! I love it!
For comparison, let’s look at the most popular and lucrative mobile puzzle game of all time, Candy Crush Saga, which bewitched most of the globe in 2013. This game was an out-of-the-gate sensation — it hit No. 75 on the U.S. iPhone chart on launch day and soared to No. 7 the next day. That was the peak download performance in its first month out.
Strongly monetizing apps don’t usually hit the top of downloads charts because they are optimized to appeal to a limited number of heavy spenders, not the general population. The sales performance of “Candy Crush” was indeed terrific. It hit Number 34 on the U.S. iPhone sales chart just six days after release — and No. 10 in under three weeks.
Pokémon Go hit No. 1 top downloads and No. 1 top grossing in the first 13 hours of its U.S. release.
Nintendo properties could easily gross $300+ million annually Variety: Wario mini-games, Advance Wars and other Nintendo properties
Dayuuum. Dat article.
Lol, Pachter may be right, but in four months,Nntendo will have another 15 billion in the bank.
More than enough to make another last-gen console.
